Double corner beds

There is not always a desire or opportunity to arrange furniture according to all the rules. For those who are forced to carefully save space or want to be original, instead of standard beds, there are corner double models.

From other models, a double corner bed is distinguished by the presence of not only a headboard, but also a side wall that is fused with it. Together, these elements form a corner structure that will easily fit into the usually unused part of the room - the corner. At the same time, the backrest at the legs of such a bed is completely absent, due to which there are two free approaches to sleeping places.

Otherwise, the design of corner beds is no different from classic models. Such furniture is reliable and durable, and the built-in drawers make it also multifunctional. It can be installed both in the bedroom and in the common room in a studio-type apartment. Such beds greatly save space, especially if it is limited. This model is more than usual, suitable for location in the corner. The side wall protects the sleeping person from hypothermia from the walls and makes half-sitting rest more comfortable.

There are left-sided and right-sided beds, which must be considered in advance when purchasing. In the future, redevelopment will be limited, since the bed will only stand in the opposite corner of the original. In addition, not all models are designed to stand, for example, in the center of a room, as they will spoil the overall interior. There is only one drawback of a criminal bed - due to the presence of a side panel connected to the headboard, a massive appearance is created. The larger and more voluminous the wall, the more cumbersome the whole structure seems.

Corner beds are not common on their own. Among them, round beds are even rarer models. Of course, such furniture does not have side walls, however, one of the sides is equipped with a corner headboard or a built-in bedside table. Round beds are original, you can sleep on them from any angle. Among the disadvantages is the difficulty of buying bed linen.

The most popular shape is rectangular. Most of the models of corner beds are just like that. At the same time, they are also, like ordinary ones, suitable for placing purchased mattresses. Double beds have the following dimensions: from 180 cm to 200 cm in width and up to 225 cm in length. Often, with the same length, furniture with a width of 160 cm is found, but this model is considered one and a half sleeping and is not always suitable for two people.

The frame of corner beds, like ordinary beds, is made mainly of wood and less often of metal, MDF, chipboard. Wood, various wood boards, especially chipboard, as well as plastic are used as materials for the backrest. They can be left in their original form or upholstered with fabric, for example, leather, velvet, velor, jacquard. The base of the bed is solid from boards, chipboard sheets and plywood, or lattice made of wooden or plastic slats. It is recommended to buy models of the second type, since such a bottom provides the necessary ventilation of the mattress.

Many models of corner beds are equipped with built-in drawers for storing linen. Most often they are located at the base of the product and have a roll-out mechanism. Rare models are made with a lifting mechanism for the entire mattress, which would open up access to storage spaces.Sometimes there are shelves and drawers at the headboard and side wall, but such a bed cannot be placed in a corner.
