Choosing paints and varnishes for the repair of premises, you should know that they can differ in their characteristics, have a different composition, from different manufacturers. Some types of materials can only be used indoors, others are used both inside and for painting walls outside.

The basis of the water-based paint is water, to which mineral components are added. After the water dries, a strong film forms, which protects the surface from external negative influences and makes the walls and ceiling attractive.

The final result depends on what kind of paint you use. There are such types of paints and varnishes that differ in components:

• Mineral paint... It is made by adding lime or cement to the composition. It is inexpensive, easy to apply, but quickly begins to fade under the sun's rays and is easily damaged.
• Silicate - it is produced using liquid glass. Such paint can be used to paint a room inside and outside, since the material is resistant to sunlight, increased water resistance. Having painted the walls with such paint, you can forget about repairs for 10 years, the material will retain its color.
• Acrylic paints... They are recommended to be used in a dry room; for greater moisture resistance, latex is added to the material. After applying this material, a flat, smooth surface is obtained; in the process, minor cracks on the walls are tightened.

• Using silicone paint, it is possible to fight cracks on larger walls, up to 2 mm. The material is quite expensive, but it has many advantages: the paint lies flat on the surface, passes water vapor, and retains its qualities for a long time.
• For repair work, you can use polyvinyl acetate paintswhich have many benefits. They are used for finishing porous materials such as wood, cardboard, plaster. The material dries quickly, does not have ingredients harmful to health, adheres well to the surface, after drying, an excellent result is obtained.

The final result depends on the choice of materials and tools. You can choose a vacuum cleaner that will cover the surface without streaks, but it takes practice to operate the spray gun. For home use, it is better to take brushes and rollers.

It is possible to reconstruct the room, level the walls and the ceiling with the help of plasterboard, from plasterboard sheets creating a relief surface with a varied shape.

Cover the floor with plastic or any other material. So that the film lies flat on the floor and does not interfere with work, use masking tape, attaching it to the wall. This will save yourself a lot of time cleaning the floors. The foil can also be hung on the door to prevent debris and paint from entering the next room.

Water-based emulsion can successfully paint not only walls, but also the ceiling.If you wanted to whitewash the ceilings, think it might be advisable to paint the room, to make the walls and ceiling in the same tone, so the room will be brighter and visually larger in size.

Water-based paint is quite thick, if desired it can be diluted with water. If you have an electric drill, you can stir the mixture using the mixer attachment... If you don't have a drill, just take a stick and stir the mixture thoroughly. Do not start work immediately after mixing, wait for the foam to settle.

If you want to paint a room a specific color, it's time to add pigment, you can achieve about 200 shades.

When purchasing material, study its technical characteristics. Find out the composition, how to properly dilute, find out how to calculate how much material is needed to complete all repair work. Do not forget to check the expiration date, do not purchase an expired product, otherwise the result may not please you... If you have old paint residues at home, look at the date of manufacture and the period of use.

The paint should be applied to the surface in an even layer. This can be achieved if you use a spray gun, but training is required to produce high-quality staining and quickly complete the work. This method is suitable for painting ceilings and walls.

Any surface can be painted with brushes and a roller. In those places where it is inconvenient to apply the composition with a roller, brushes will come to the rescue.... These methods will allow you to quickly finish the job and reduce material consumption.

Using the advice of experienced specialists, we begin to paint the right corner of the window, moving to the door, then again move towards the window. Pour the paint into a tray and roll the roller several times to soak it.

There is a certain technology for the correct application of the composition. It is necessary to roll out the paint in small areas, moving from the ceiling to the floor... You can move the roller in different directions, parallel or laterally, grabbing a little paint, so you will avoid streaks.

On putty surfaces, the paint lays down smoothly and easily, leaving no streaks and streaks. After the putty, be sure to wait until the coating is completely dry. If you plan to glue the wallpaper after painting, it is enough to apply one layer.

Lubrication of unevenness and sanding is carried out in preparation for an improved painting. In this case, several mandatory operations should be performed: carry out the initial primer with partial grease, grind the greased places, the next step will be the second priming and painting.
