Having built a pool bowl (concrete or metal), having carried out good waterproofing, the next step will be to treat the surface by applying rubber paint. Before purchasing products of a specific brand, you need to familiarize yourself with all its features and composition.

Rubber paint is the newest type of water-based acrylic paints and varnishes. It is eco-friendly, harmless to health, breathable, with a soft flexible texture, suitable for any outdoor and indoor use. All the components that make up such a mixture do not pose any harm to nature, since they do not emit hazardous substances either during application or use.

This water-resistant substance creates a very dense coating, soft and pleasant to the touch, and reliably protects the surface of the tank. The product includes:

• water (serves for dissolution, does not exceed 5% of the total mass);
• acrylic latex (essential for high stability and flexibility);
• coalescent (film forming component);
• antifreeze (protects the finished coating from the effects of subzero temperatures);
• preservative (affects the life of the paint);
• additives, pigments, fillers (to improve the properties and give color to the finished product).

Modern rubber pool paints have their own advantages and disadvantages. Main pluses:

• resistance to temperature fluctuations (does not change its properties either at high or at low rates);

• ease of application;

• resistance to sunlight (does not lose color under the influence of ultraviolet radiation);
• anti-slip surface (which is very important for the pool);
• fast drying (within a few hours).

• time-consuming in the tinting process.

The Finnish manufacturer recommends applying its products to wooden, galvanized, any metal, plastic, gypsum, concrete and brick surfaces. Advantages of paint:

• does not interfere with the passage of steam;
• surface washing is allowed;
• resistant to cracks and impacts of the base;

Before you start applying paint, you must carefully prepare the surface of the pool bowl. The work is done as follows:

• prime the bottom and sides of the structure and wait at least 8 hours until completely dry;
• clean the surface from all existing dirt;
• shake up the paint thoroughly before starting work, leaving no lumps;
• if the mixture is too thick, you can add a little water;
• apply the first layer with a brush or roller strictly on a dry surface, be sure to wait until it dries;
• in the process of work, the paint must be stirred frequently;
• apply a second layer to the dried surface of the first layer;
• after painting, thoroughly wash the working tools.

It is not recommended to be limited to staining only. For greater durability of the coating, it is necessary to occasionally carry out preventive actions. In this case, it is enough:

• remove the appeared rust;
• use a sealant if necessary;
• paint periodically.

It is undesirable to wash the pool surface within 7 days after applying the paint. This rule must be adhered to in order for the applied material to finally gain its strong properties.
