Anyone who has come across a repair knows how easy it is to stain clothes with paint and varnish materials. Acrylic paints are a special type of building materials. They include water, a coloring pigment and a film former. They do not contain organic solvents, therefore, they are considered environmentally friendly and are widely used in the construction and art fields.

The paint is produced on the basis of acrylic resins and water-based. The color depends on the selected pigment. The freezing time of the film former is 30-60 minutes. The paint takes only 24 hours to dry completely.

Acrylic materials are distinguished by high elasticity, bright colors, many shades, fast drying. If acrylic gets on your clothes, then it will be easy to deal with fresh paint, but it is much more difficult to remove an old stain. Today, there are many ways to quickly get rid of acrylic stains from fabric at home.

The choice of a means for removing acrylic from fabrics depends on how much time has passed since the moment the dye got on the clothes. It is better to start removing contamination right away, before the paint has soaked into the material and dried.

Fresh paint can be easily washed off with plain cold water. Turn the garment inside out, and then put it under a stream of clean cold water. Next, send it to the washing machine, or wash it with laundry soap by hand. After that, the clothes need to be thoroughly rinsed. If the stain is too large, you can soak the garment briefly in cold water. This will help to saturate the paint and make it easier to remove. While the garment is soaking, dilute the soapy water, apply it to a sponge, and gently wipe away the stain.

In the resulting mass, moisten a sponge and rub the stain lightly. This method is effective if the paint has not yet had time to "set", otherwise it is better to use stronger substances.

Acrylic can be washed well with the following available products:

• isopropyl (medical) alcohol;
• ammonia;
• vinegar;
• hair fixation spray;
• window cleaner;
• ammonia.

This method is quite effective. Blot the paint with a paper towel and dampen the stained area. Make sure the product does not leave any residue on the fabric. To do this, sprinkle varnish or window cleaner on an inconspicuous area of ​​your clothing. If everything is in order, then you can start removing the stain. Apply the composition to a clean sponge, and then treat the contaminated area with it. Blot the stain with light strokes without using force (first in one direction, then in the other). After the procedure, wash your clothes in the washing machine.

Before you start removing the stain, try scraping off the paint. Removing the top coat will help clean up faster.

Soak clothing in cold water for a few minutes. Let it soak in water, then squeeze lightly. We need the following solution:

Aggressive solvents are used in more severe cases when old dried stains need to be removed. You can wipe off acrylic with such substances as:

• refined gasoline;
• White Spirit;
• acetone.

Denatured alcohol has a stronger effect than rubbing alcohol. There is no water in its composition, but there is methanol, which is included in the group of poisons. That is why it is worth working with denatured alcohol very carefully, in a well-ventilated area, using overalls and goggles. It is highly flammable and burns with a pale blue flame that is almost invisible in sunlight.

The method of application is the same as for medical alcohol: soak a cotton swab in the solution and lightly walk over the stain. If the paint is dry, rub it lightly. After that, the thing must be thoroughly rinsed, changing the water several times, and then washed in the usual way.

It should be noted that it is impossible to remove acrylic from synthetic fabric using the above means. Aggressive substances will lead to the formation of holes in the material. If the fabric is made from natural raw materials, then even strong technical solvents can be used.

To make the process of cleaning things from acrylic more efficient and hassle-free, you should rely on the following recommendations of professionals:

• To wash off the paint on artificial fabrics (nylon, silk, nylon), it is better to use alcohol-based products. Be sure to put a napkin under the stained area. Remove dirt from the wrong side.
• When the stain is removed, rinse thoroughly and then wash the item. This is necessary to get rid of chemical residues and odors.
• When washing, you can add a little salt to the powder. Dry clothes outdoors.
• Oxygen bleach can help wash acrylic off a white cloth. Apply a little of the substance to the stain and let it sit for 1 hour. Then rinse the garment thoroughly in cold water and wash.
