In the House

To neutralize mosquitoes and midges indoors, it is necessary to fill it with a life-saving scent. To do this, use an aroma lamp, electric or ceramic. To make the smell light and unobtrusive, the oil is diluted with water: 4-7 drops of the selected product are added to 1 tablespoon of liquid. You can mix the smells of your favorite plants, but no more than 3. Do not forget to ventilate the room before the session and add water to the lamp bowl as it evaporates. 20 minutes is enough for the procedure.

For aromatherapy, geranium, lavender, clove, and mint oils are suitable. You can mix these products with cedar, citronella and eucalyptus. Cotton pads soaked in this solution will help to deal with insects.

Home-made scented candles are also used at home. The selected fragrances are added to the wax melted in the steam bath. The mixture is poured into a metal container or glass candlestick, where a wick of dense natural threads is first lowered. When making candles, observe the proportions: for 100 g of wax - 5-7 drops of oil.

Outside

In nature, use your own spray.

Mix:

  • 100 ml of water;
  • 10 ml of vodka;
  • 5-10 drops of fragrance;
  • pour the mixture into a spray bottle and shake gently;
  • the product is ready for use, use by spraying it around you, on clothes;
  • make sure you are not allergic to the ingredients before applying the spray to your skin.

You can take the spray with you for a walk, to the river, to the forest, to the dacha. Reapply the mixture after 3-5 hours.

If you're sitting outside in a gazebo, you can sprinkle a cotton cloth with the solution and tie it around your wrist. The bracelet will work great until the fabric is dry.

For kids

Children's delicate skin is sensitive not only to synthetic repellents. Natural remedies can cause severe allergies in babies. The best option for protecting children from mosquito and midge bites is to use vanilla.

The sweet aroma is unpleasant for insects and is not scary for children, but it is also not recommended to apply the essential extract from vanilla to the child's skin in its pure form. Use a cream or spray to protect your baby.

Cream:

  • 100 g baby cream;
  • 3 drops of vanilla oil;
  • mix the ingredients and apply to the baby's skin so that the baby cannot get his hands dirty in it, rub his eyes with them, take them into his mouth;
  • test your child for an allergic reaction before use;
  • use the cream only in the evening if bees or wasps are flying nearby.

To use fragrances with confidence, run an allergy test. When using oils for an aroma lamp or home spray, it is important not to overshoot the dosage:

  • children under 2 months - 1 drop of oil per tablespoon of water;
  • from one to 5 years - 1 drop per 7.5 ml of water (½ teaspoon);
  • from 5 to 14 years old - 2-3 drops per ½ teaspoon;
  • adults and children over 14 years old - 3 drops per ½ teaspoon.

Learn to skillfully use the ingredients so that your mixtures not only save you from bites, but also delight you with a wonderful smell.
