This film is also great for covering strawberry beds. The soil underneath it warms up very well. Therefore, it is recommended to use it in those regions where the summer is cold.

However, it should be remembered that in the hot season, the soil under the film may overheat. To avoid this, cover the soil under it with a layer of straw or well-dried hay.

Under the transparent material, the soil warms up quickly. It's bad that weeds grow quickly under such a shelter. You can get rid of them only by treating the soil with chemicals. And this is not always beneficial for plants and berry consumers.

2. Thickness... The selected film must be thick enough. The thicker the material, the longer it will serve its owners.
3. The presence of perforation. Perforated film is ideal for growing strawberries using this technology. The material with pre-prepared holes does not have to be additionally prepared before planting the bushes.
4. Manufacturer country... Lightweight Chinese films do not last long, so they have to be changed very often. The best films are those produced in Israel.

It is quite easy to plant strawberries under plastic wrap. Even a novice gardener can do this. It is best to plant seedlings in early summer. The soil at this time is already well warmed up, so the plants will definitely take root. The process of planting berry bushes under the film is as follows.

1. The first step is to find a place for the future garden. It is best to plant young strawberries where nothing has grown for several years.
2. The soil must be carefully dug up, the beds must be marked. The row spacing should be at least 70 cm. At the same stage, humus is introduced into the soil.
3. Next, the soil should be mulched... Compost, dry straw or hay can be used for this purpose. You need to spread the mulch in a thick layer. The prepared area must be left alone for a week.
4. During this time, it is necessary to prepare a drip irrigation system, for which a hose with special holes should be laid along the row spacing... The end should be closed with a plug of a suitable size.
5. After that, the film is laid on the bed. Its edges must be pressed against the soil with stones or covered with earth.
6. Now, in place of the holes, it is necessary to make small cross-shaped cuts in the film. The edges of the cut film must be carefully folded over. The holes must be large enough to accommodate strawberry bushes. They are usually placed in a checkerboard pattern. In this case, nothing will interfere with the normal growth and development of plants. If the film already has suitable holes, you can skip this step.
7. To put strawberries under the plastic bushes must first be disinfected with any suitable drug.
8. It is recommended to plant bushes in the morning or in the evening.... Landing holes should not be made too deep. They are conveniently done with a piece of waste pipe. Such holes will be smooth and neat.
9. After planting the plants, each of them must be watered abundantly.... About a liter of warm water is poured under the bush, not counting the amount that is consumed before planting. The plants should be sprinkled with a small amount of earth, and then covered with the previously folded edges of the film.

Cope with planting strawberries is not difficult. Growing it in the future will also be quite simple. You won't have to weed the bushes over time. Drip irrigation ensures timely water supply to the plant roots without any problems. Water the strawberries that grow under the film, you need no more than once a week. If the summer is rainy, you can do without artificial watering altogether.

If the plants are attacked by pests, it is convenient to deal with them. Noticing slugs on the surface of the material, they need to be collected in a timely manner. Immediately after planting strawberries, bushes for prevention can be treated a weak solution of boric acid or ammonia... These substances should be used in small quantities, carefully.

In the fall, after the final harvest, the film will only have to be inspected for damage, and then put away for storage. The dense material can be reused to re-grow strawberries.
