Description of the variety

Everly bush is low but powerful. Strong flower stalks keep the berries at a height, and this facilitates the harvesting process. The leaves are powerful, dark green in color. During flowering, aesthetic pink flowers are formed on the plant, creating an interesting composition in tandem with a compact bush, and therefore the Everly variety is often used in the garden as an ornamental plant.

Ripening terms

It is a remontant variety that begins to bloom in May. Begins to bear fruit at the end of May, and the last berries ripen in October.

Yield

Everly belongs to the varieties with a very high degree of productivity, one bush can yield from 1 to 1.5 kg of delicious fruits.

Berries and their taste

The berries are bright red, conical in shape and large in size - each weight can reach 40 g. The berries taste sweet and sour, have the aroma of wild strawberries. You can use berries as you like: eat them fresh or process them into jam, compote, jam.

Due to their high marketability and good transportability, the fruits are well suited for growing for sale.

Growing features

Everly strawberries are allowed to be grown in the Moscow region and in most of the country. In general, the plant requires classic care, including:

  • moistening the soil;

  • weeding;

  • mustache trimming;

  • loosening;

  • fertilizer;

  • treatment for parasites.

However, it is important to know that this is a very moisture-loving variety, so you need to water the plant abundantly.

When and how to plant strawberries so that they bring a rich harvest is a question that novice gardeners often ask themselves. The berries can be planted in the ground in spring, summer and autumn. Each season has its own characteristics of planting.
Strawberries are the most beloved and popular berry in our gardens. Even in the smallest plots, there will always be a place for it, since every year there are more and more unexpected and original solutions for its cultivation. Strawberries are grown in the form of a carpet, rows, nests, in addition to many different original options. Everyone chooses their own way depending on the area of the site and its design.
Watering strawberries, like any other garden crop, should be in compliance with all the necessary recommendations. During the fruiting period, including the ripening of the fruits, the amount of moisture should be sufficient for the harvest to be a decent amount, and the berries are tasty and aromatic. If you neglect watering, or water little and not enough, then the strawberries can dry out. With excessive moisture, the berries can rot.
Speaking of pruning strawberries, most often it is the removal of leaves on fertile bushes that is meant. This is done to partially rejuvenate the plant, to get rid of damaged, diseased leaves, to prevent bacterial and fungal infections, to reduce the number of harmful insects.

Site selection and soil preparation

Planting is carried out in early autumn. When choosing a location, give preference to sunny and semi-shaded areas. Growing in a greenhouse is possible.

Keep in mind that the culture will develop best in fertile soil, on light and medium-textured soil with an acidity of 5.0-6.5 pH. When preparing the site, apply organic matter in the amount of 5-6 kg / m2 and mineral fertilizers up to 40 g / m2. Next, dig up the bed, and plant the plant after the ground has settled.

The soil for strawberries should be saturated with organic matter. The plant grows best on light loamy or sandy loam soil. Black soil and gray forest soil are also excellent for cultivation. It is undesirable to plant strawberries on clay soil.

Pollination

Everly is a self-pollinated variety. If strawberries are planted in a greenhouse, then they can be artificially pollinated. To do this, use a fan or a regular brush.

Top dressing

The culture of the presented variety is distinguished by abundant fruiting, which means that the soil under it is quickly depleted. Therefore, the plant needs monthly feeding. Organic compounds containing minerals are suitable as fertilizers. The simplest remedy is wood ash: mix it with water, and pour the resulting composition under the bushes. Infusion of mullein or nettle has the same properties.

One of the important techniques in strawberry care is feeding. Regular fertilization guarantees a rich harvest. There are several different ways to feed strawberries, and each of them is designed for a specific period of plant development. During flowering, fruiting and after it, feeding should be different.

In order for strawberries to delight us with an abundance of large and sweet berries next year, they need to be properly prepared for winter. The set of measures for preparing strawberries for the cold includes: pruning, watering, feeding, loosening, pest control, mulching and shelter.

Diseases and pests

The presented variety is characterized by high immunity, therefore the plant is almost not affected by diseases and pests. Nevertheless, prevention will be useful. It is enough to treat the bushes with insecticides in the spring and autumn.

Strawberries are often subject to many dangerous diseases that can seriously undermine their condition. Among the most common are powdery mildew, gray mold, brown spot, anthracnose, and verticillosis. Before buying a variety, you need to inquire about its disease resistance.

Reproduction

The culture should be propagated by seedlings, which are best planted in open ground in August for better adaptation. Reproduction by antennae is allowed, but in this case the plant may become smaller, since the variety is a hybrid.

Reviews

According to the observations of gardeners, despite the high immunity, without the use of chemistry, Everly bushes can be affected by spotting. In the northern regions, the fruits do not gain the specified weight, however, the taste of the berries is highly appreciated even by the most discerning gardeners, and this taste is preserved even in the last, autumn berries. Some gardeners grow Everly strawberries in flower pots for decoration as an element of landscape design.

Strawberries or garden strawberries multiply very easily. The most common way to obtain planting material is to grow young plants from vegetative shoots - whiskers. Seedlings are also obtained by dividing the bush.
