Late strawberry varieties

In July, when common strawberries are already producing fruit, later varieties begin to produce their first harvest. Late varieties do not require any special care, but they have many advantages. They are as follows.

1. Vigorous shrubs with a strong and well-developed root system. Thick flower stalks keep the berries hanging well, preventing rot and eating by pests.
2. It can be planted in the spring, when the snow melts and the frost stops, as well as in the fall before the onset of cold weather.
3. There are remontant varieties that bear fruit from mid-summer to early autumn.

Berries are suitable for fresh consumption, as well as for making compotes, preserves, and jam. The ripening period coincides with currants, apples and gooseberries, so it is possible to prepare assorted varieties.
