Brick ША - fireclay refractory brick
ShA brick (fireclay refractory) has a high refractoriness - more than 1500 degrees Celsius. Anyone who has ever been involved in the construction of stoves or fireplaces knows that fireclay bricks are the best refractory bricks.
Peculiarities
- Its appearance is grainy, sandy yellow.
- It is made of chamotte (powder) and special refractory clay. These materials are exposed to high temperatures.
- If there is a transparent film on the bricks, it means that it has been overexposed in the oven. Although it has great strength, due to the presence of a film, it is worse fastened with a solution.
It should be recalled that when erecting buildings from it, the seam should be as thin as possible. And in the clay for bonding, you need to add crushed refractory brick.
Stamps
Refractory bricks are of the following brands: ША, ШАК, ШУС, ШВ, ШБ, ПБ and PV.
The most common are - brick ШБ and SHA... They are manufactured in accordance with GOST 390–96.
In the wide industry, the SHA brand is used for the construction of furnace vaults. And in private (household) not only for stoves, but also for fireplaces. Brick ША has al2o3 in its composition in the amount of 30% of the total mass (ШБ has 28%). This gives it a fire resistance that can withstand up to 1690 ° C. The softening point is 1300 ° C.
The SHA mark shows compliance with the requirements of GOST. It is chamotte aluminosilicate and belongs to class A refractories.
In addition to the standard rectangular ones, other shapes are also produced for the construction of vaults and arches of various degrees of curvature. Available in various sizes: 230x85x65 mm., 230x114x75 mm., 230x114x100 mm. etc. There are also sizes 300x150x75 mm.
It is also worth noting that bricks of the SHA brand tend to quickly gain heat and cool slowly. These properties allow the house to warm up for some time even after the fire in the stove or fireplace has been extinguished. They also keep warmth in the house well.
Specificity and special characteristics allowed it to gain popularity and frequent use in various areas of construction and industry. And the relatively simple manufacturing technology and, as a result, the relatively low cost made it an affordable and profitable tool for the construction of stoves and fireplaces in the private sector.
