Planter bike: features, design and manufacture

Flowers are always a real decoration of a house or a personal plot, but if they are also beautifully "served", then such plants have every chance of becoming a real work of art. That is why many housewives purchase pots. The pots in the form of a bicycle look especially stylish.

Many do not see much of a difference between flower pots and planters. However, they are not the same thing at all. The main difference lies in the functional purpose of these items. The pot is the place where the earth is poured and the flower is planted, the planter is, rather, a decorative packaging for the pot., which makes the overall perception of the floristic composition more sophisticated and stylish. Thus, the pot is necessary in order to provide conditions for the growth and development of the plant, and the task of the planter is simply to hide the unattractive pot.

The design features of these "flowerpots" are also different: the pot has special holes for the withdrawal of excess liquid, and the pots are considered a solid vessel.

Using a pots has many advantages:

• when changing the interior design, it is easy to change it without the need to transplant the plant and thereby injure its roots;
• flower pots eventually become covered with a white bloom and take on an unaesthetic appearance, so the pots allow you to mask all unattractive spots and stains;

• pallets are not always convenient for holding water after watering, they often tip over and flood furniture and other interior items around them, and the pots allow you to keep water and prevent it from spoiling expensive things;
• in winter, thanks to the pots, the necessary level of moisture is maintained near the plants;
• additional supports for climbing vines can be installed in the planter between its walls and the pot, this will allow, on the one hand, to provide the plant with optimal conditions for growth, and on the other, not to stick sharp twigs into the ground with the risk of damaging the root system of the flower.

A pots in the form of a bicycle are considered a very stylish decor option. It is usually used for small plants and flower arrangements, and, if desired and with a little diligence, it is quite possible to make it at home with your own hands from materials that are sold in any hardware store: jute thread and metal wire.

Instructions for creating such a pots include a number of sequential actions.

• The front wheel should be made first. For this, the wire is bent in a circle. It is best to do this on some fixed circle, for example, on a bank. This will make the circle more even. For information: from a wire 40 cm long, a wheel with a diameter of about 14 cm is obtained. The resulting circle should be wrapped with twine.
• Then you can move on to making the rear wheels. To do this, a piece of wire of 25 cm is twisted, and the wheels are about 8-10 cm in size. The manufacturing technology is the same as in the case of the front wheel.
• One of the hardest parts is making the wheel spokes. They can be made in the form of curls. So they will be more unpretentious and original.For a large wheel, you will need 6 pieces of wire of 14 cm each, and for the rear small ones - 6 pieces of 10 cm each. The wire is also wrapped with jute thread and bent.

• The next step is to make a double frame. To do this, you need two pieces of wire 45 cm each directly for the frames and 2 pieces of 20 cm each - for curls. The wire for the frame is twisted, wrapped with thread and given the desired shape.
• After that, it remains to make only the steering wheel and the basket for the pot. The bottom of the basket is made with a diameter of about 8 cm. This will require a piece of wire 25 cm. And the top - with a diameter of 14 cm. This will require about 40 cm of wire. All manipulations are carried out by analogy with the manufacture of wheels, only the circles are additionally connected with rods. To do this, you need 4 more pieces of wire, 40 cm each. The basket is attached to the frame and wheels with jute twine. After you fix it, all that remains is to plant the pot in your stylish basket.

For compositions of artificial flowers, the base for the wheels can be made of cardboard: they are lightweight and will not lead to deformation of the material. Fresh flowers, together with a lump of earth, are rather heavy, therefore metal supports are needed here.

All dimensions are for a medium-sized planter: about 20 cm high and 35 cm long.

It is very difficult to imagine a favorite garden without an abundance of flowers, compositions planted in pots of an unusual shape look especially impressive. As a stylish "frame" for ornamental plants, you can use old things that can no longer be used for their intended purpose. With a minimum of imagination, even from an old bicycle, you can create a stylish landscape decor.

Baskets and curls for knitting needles are made of wire, all of which are screwed to the bike and covered with paint. Very often, such things are decorated in a shabby chic style. So they look really luxurious, emphasizing the originality and beauty of your flower garden.

The indisputable advantage of making outdoor pots with your own hands is the minimum waste of effort and material, combined with a consistently high result.
