Yield

The average yield reaches 550-739 centners per hectare. The maximum yield is achieved by observing agrotechnical recommendations.

Growing and care

Vestry is grown by seedling method. First of all, gardeners are advised to pay special attention to seed preparation.

  1. Calibration. The procedure involves soaking the seeds in a glass of water for half an hour. During this time, empty samples will rise to the surface and can be removed.
  2. Disinfection. The selected material is placed in cheesecloth and immersed in a glass with heated water for 25 minutes, and then cooled. Heat treatment increases the immunity of seeds and destroys pathogens of various diseases.
  3. Treatment. The seeds are placed in a nitrophoska solution for an additional 12 hours.

In addition, gardeners advise hardening after the seeds have swollen. During the day, they should be kept warm, and placed in the refrigerator at night, previously wrapped in gauze.

Seeds are planted in prepared peat pots. The maximum depth of planting a seed is 1 cm. At the end, the seeds are covered with soil, watered abundantly and placed in a warm place.

Transplanting seedlings into open ground is carried out in the middle or late spring. Before carrying out work, it is necessary to fertilize and loosen the soil. Scheme:

  • 60 cm recede between the seedlings;
  • between the rows stand 60 cm;
  • planting depth - 7-8 cm.

After that, it will remain to take care of the care of the culture. The main stages include the following activities.

  1. Watering.The hybrid is quite demanding to care for, it is recommended to water the plant 2-3 times a week, additionally taking into account climatic and weather conditions. In case of drought, watering should be increased, for the time of rains - stop. It is important that the soil around the cabbage is not too wet.
  2. Loosening. An obligatory procedure that should be started after each watering. The maximum soil digging depth should not exceed 4-6 cm.
  3. Hilling. An important agricultural technique that will prevent insect attacks and reduce the risk of plant diseases. The first time the cabbage is spud up after 20-25 days; on average, the procedure should be performed 2-3 times per season.
  4. Mulching. Prevents overgrowth of weeds and helps preserve nutrients in the soil in the amount required for cabbage.
  5. Top dressing. During the season, gardeners fertilize cabbage 3-4 times, using both organic compounds and mineral complexes. Basically, fertilizers are applied during the period of leaf ovary, as well as the active formation of the head of cabbage.

Additionally, gardeners are advised to weed the beds in order to prevent the spread of pests.

To grow a rich cabbage crop, you need to know when and how to plant this crop outdoors. Planting dates are determined depending on the variety. It is also necessary to properly prepare the soil and follow the rules of crop rotation.

Proper watering is a prerequisite for agricultural technology when growing cabbage. This vegetable crop prefers regular watering, the frequency of which depends on weather conditions, soil composition, cabbage variety and other characteristics.
Cabbage, like many other vegetables, needs regular hilling. This procedure performs several functions at once: it makes the plants stronger, protects the crop from diseases and pests, retains moisture in the soil, and increases the yield of the crop.

Soil requirements

It is recommended to plant Vestri cabbage in fertile soils. Recommendations for choosing a location:

  • the site must be sunny and calm;
  • the groundwater level should be low;
  • acidity should be neutral.

If desired, it will be possible to achieve the required indicators with the help of fertilizers and timely loosening of the soil.

Cabbage requires particularly careful care when growing. The plant quickly absorbs nutrients, so the soil needs to be enriched regularly. Adequate amounts of minerals, organics and nitrogen must be provided. Some products can be purchased at the store, while others are easy to make at home.

Disease and pest resistance

The variety has strong immunity and withstands attacks from pests and diseases. However, gardeners are advised not to abandon the preventive treatment of the culture with special solutions, which can be purchased at a gardening store.

Cabbage is a very popular horticultural crop. But growing a good, large and tasty cabbage is sometimes very difficult, because it is often affected by a huge number of diseases and pests. The main role in the cultivation of this vegetable is played by regular prevention, which helps to get a rich harvest, and prevent the occurrence of diseases and the invasion of harmful insects. It is very important to start treatment as early as possible, otherwise there is a risk of spreading the infection to unaffected plants.
