Cabbage Sibiryachka 60 is a mid-season frost-resistant variety intended for cultivation in regions with a cold temperature regime and a short summer period. Despite the difficult weather conditions in the regions of cultivation, the crop shows stable yields and forms juicy and dense heads. Due to its increased resistance to frost and cold, the variety has gained popularity in various climatic latitudes, and its excellent taste and crunchy structure make it possible to use the harvested crop both for making salads, and for canning and pickling.

Cabbage Sibiryachka 60 is the result of painstaking selection work by leading specialists of the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Growing and the Poisk agricultural holding. Work on the hybridization of white cabbage and its adaptation to the unfavorable climatic conditions of the north began as early as 1964, and in 1971 the variety was officially registered and entered the wholesale and retail sale. For many years, the culture has been in high demand among vegetable growers not only in the Siberian Federal District and in the Trans-Urals, but also in other climatic latitudes, except for the southern arid regions. The variety shows a good percentage of productivity in a short summer period and low soil fertility, and the harvested crop, due to its juiciness and crunchy structure, has a universal purpose and is used both fresh and in pickled and pickled.

Cabbage Sibiryachka 60 is a mid-season frost-resistant variety that has a slightly spreading appearance, as well as a raised leaf rosette. Medium-sized, round, surface leaves have a pimpled surface and are painted in a deep green hue with a matte bloom, which gives them a grayish appearance. The edge of the leaves has a slight waviness. The cover leaves of the second order have a light green tint and are practically free of wax bloom and wrinkles. On a small stump, the size of which does not exceed 10 cm, spherical flattened heads are formed. The mass of the heads ranges from 2.1 to 4.3 kg, and their diameter does not exceed 25 cm. The inner part has a pale green tint.

A juicy frost-resistant variety has a dense structure and is used both for preparing fresh vitamin salads and hot dishes, as well as for fermentation, pickling and canning.The high sugar content and sweetish notes make the dishes especially tasty and nutritious in regions with cold climates and short summer periods.

Cabbage Sibiryachka 60 refers to mid-season crops in which technical ripeness occurs 3.5-4 months after the appearance of the first shoots. After 95-110 days, the crop can be fully harvested. Depending on the region of cultivation, heads of cabbage are harvested in the second or third decade of September.

An unpretentious frost-resistant variety has an average yield percentage. From a plot of 1 hectare, on average, you can collect from 341 to 857 centners of juicy and vitamin fruits. Private household plots can receive from 1 m2 from 4 to 10 kg of cabbage. The number and weight of heads depend on the climatic characteristics of the cultivation region, seasonal weather conditions.

Growing an unpretentious and frost-resistant variety of white cabbage will not cause difficulties even for novice gardeners. However, the cultivation of crops in conditions of risky farming requires compliance with all agrotechnical recommendations of vegetable breeders. It is necessary to plant a mid-season variety only by the seedling method. Planting seed should be carried out in the first and second decade of April. Before planting, the seeds must be soaked in warm water for several hours, and also treated with disinfectant solutions and growth stimulants. A mixture of garden turf, peat and river sand must be used as a nutrient soil. To obtain the maximum germination percentage, the seed should not be buried more than 10 mm.

The transplantation of mature and healthy seedlings to a permanent place of growth should be carried out at the end of May, after the threat of residual frosts has passed. Particular attention must be paid to the choice of a place of constant growth. The variety is strictly forbidden to grow on slopes where water outflow and drying out of the root system will occur, as well as in the low-lying part of the site, where high humidity and dampness will lead to decay of the roots. The selected area should be well lit and protected from strong currents of cold winds.

Crop care consists of a set of standard measures and provides for timely loosening of the soil, regular removal of weeds and enrichment of the soil with mineral and organic fertilizers, as well as mulching of the root zone. Particular attention should be paid to the frequency of watering. Plants should receive the same amount of moisture throughout the growing season. Untimely watering impairs the presentation of the heads of cabbage and reduces their juiciness.
