How to make a bed of plastic bottles?

With the arrival of warm days, many owners of country houses and summer residents begin to worry about the issue of decorating the territory of their garden. The materials at hand are used: plastic containers, tires, bamboo. With at least a little bit of imagination, the gardener is able to create a unique atmosphere on his site. Plastic bottles are especially popular for their environmental friendliness and low cost of the material. To build beds out of them, just follow the instructions.

In beds made of plastic containers, advantages mainly prevail: the structure is easily constructed, the plastic is resistant to temperature extremes and lasts for a long time. There are no difficulties in application. Containers can be painted in any color, but if possible, they are filled with colored sand - this is how something completely new and bright emerges from a colorless and nondescript bottle. Beds made of plastic bottles will not only fulfill their main function, but also become a decoration of the garden.

The disadvantages include low mechanical strength, but if the containers for the garden are filled with sand, they will hold securely. An important rule: you need to install bottles as tightly as possible to each other. Also, the disadvantages include toxicity - some types of plastic emit poisons. These types include: PET (1), PS (6), OTHER (7).

To make beautiful beds without resorting to outside help, you first need to decide on the option for arranging the land. There are many interesting ideas: for strawberries, you can build beds even on the wall of the house. When the time comes to harvest, it will be very easy to do, since the beds will be positioned according to the gardener's height. You can hang almost any object on the wall, but the most popular are beds made of plastic containers - you need to cut a hole in them and fill in the earth. This is just one way.

Vertical structures made of plastic bottles are the fastest and most reliable way to get a good harvest. They can be planted with strawberries, vegetables or beautiful flowers that will decorate the garden. For the design, you will need 2-liter bottles (the gardener determines the amount himself, it all depends on the goals). First, we rinse each bottle, remove labels and glue.

Cut a triangle on the side of the bottle, and on the opposite side there are drainage holes (there should be a lot of them). Having stepped back from the neck of the bottle 2 cm and reaching the base of the container, we make punctures through and through. We stretch a fishing line through them (or a rope, as you like), at the ends of the rope we tie on a nut so that the bottles do not break off under the weight of the soil. We fill the bottles with a mixture of drainage with soil and plant seedlings of garden strawberries.

Warm beds made of plastic bottles are the best design option, suitable for most crops, but most popular for cucumbers and greens. It takes no more than 20 minutes to create a warm bed. First of all, we collect a set of identical bottles in one row (you can use 1.5 liters). We glue them all together with scotch tape. It is important that the bottoms are on the same level.After gluing, we turn the structure over and on the reverse side we also "go through" with adhesive tape, not sparing the tape. The more it is, the denser the design of the cucumber bed.

Now you can make a rounded high bed, scotch tape will also help in the formation. A bed with a fence made of plastic containers will accumulate heat due to water. We fill each one to the brim and close it with a lid. Thus, the frame will become durable, and the water in this case will act as a heat carrier. Due to the sun's rays, the water will heat up during the day, and at night, when it cools down, it will retain the warmth of the soil and will not allow temperature changes to negatively affect the seedlings.

A hanging bed is perfect for a small-sized summer cottage. An excellent place to place it: the wall of the house. This type of bed is suitable for growing greenery. The only snag may arise in bottles, not all have 2 liter containers. If there are bottles, good, they need to be prepared. First, take a CD (or something identical in shape) and draw a marker around it on paper. Cut out a rounded hole, then attach the cut sheet to the bottle. We outline with a marker.

This manipulation must be done with each bottle, do not forget to cut holes from 2 sides. For ease of work, it is better to use a clerical knife, since hands can get more tired from cutting out plastic containers. At the very end, we make a hole in the bottom of the bottle. To do this, heat the knife on gas, and then cut out a small hole (slightly smaller than the cork). Next, we make holes in the container lids. Now the most interesting thing: we insert the neck into the hole that is located in the bottom, and inside we twist the cork.

The garden bed can be made in different sizes (it all depends on the wishes of the gardener). For example, one garland can contain 5 bottles, in total there can be 5 garlands. To hang it in the bottom of the upper bottle, create 5 holes at the bends. At the end of a strong fishing line (it is better to use a fishing line) we make a knot and pass it through the hole. This will secure the knot and hold the structure. Hang the cute beds with hooks nailed to the ceiling. We fill the pots with earth and transplant the seedlings.

Many gardeners are interested in improving summer cottage technologies. More recently, another way to create a high bed has appeared - from plastic containers. The basis of such a bed is placed empty and closed bottles with a volume of 2, 2.5 and 3 liters. This is necessary for additional thermal insulation. Proponents of this method claim that it is possible to plant crops in such beds 10 days earlier than in ordinary ones.

It should be noted that bottles are only an additional guarantee of heat, everything else must be done according to the rules: first comes organic garbage, then small remains of it (for example, branches, pieces of cardboard), and on top is a fertile layer of soil. Also, do not forget about the drainage, the mesh-netting and the box. We pour earth between the large debris, and spill each layer with a solution of EM preparations.

Pyramidal beds are made from different materials: old tires, wood. A pyramid made of plastic bottles is considered a creative option. Such a bed will not only decorate the garden, but also significantly save space. To create we take a set of 2 liter plastic bottles. We will attach them to a wall or pipe using ropes. A strawberry bush is planted in each container.

The final stage of the work will be the border for the flower bed. If a lot of bottles have accumulated at home, do not get rid of them. They can be used to enclose flower beds. Plastic, decomposing in natural conditions for 100 years, brings great harm to nature. But as a fence, the material is just a godsend! The configuration, size and shape of the fence are limited only by the imagination of the owners of the site.

For the fence, we clean the bottles from the label and fill them with sand. Digging trenches. If the flower bed is of a complex shape, we make markings in advance. The depth of the ditch should be approximately 9-10 cm, and the width should be identical to the thickness of the container. The bottles should fit snugly together. Thus, the fence is gradually formed.

It is worth noting that plants thrive in plastic hanging containers. Together with backlighting, such a bed looks truly mystical at night! Bottles filled with earth below seem to float in the air. As for the pyramidal structures, they look very decorative and at the same time functional. Different types of plants are grown in them - it turns out a kind of corner, consisting of different types of lettuce.

Plastic pipes are even more popular with gardeners. They are cut and hung on ropes or chains. You can make several rows and plant different plants. Such beds are good because they can be rearranged, they fit perfectly into any garden design.

Decorating your garden with plastic containers is easier than it sounds. Painted bottles look very unusual - in the garden they make beds of different shapes: triangular, round, square. Often, instead of colored sand, the bottles are filled with acrylic paint, they are dangled, after which the containers acquire the desired shade. The brighter the better!
