The creation of notification systems of all types is directly related to the need for the selection, placement and correct installation of loudspeakers throughout the facility. Particular attention should be paid to ceiling systems.

Let us dwell in more detail on the description of this type of acoustic technique.

Characteristic

Ceiling loudspeakers are commonly used to create public address systems in rooms that have a large horizontal area with a ceiling height of 2.5 to 6 m.

They belong to the category of loudspeakers in which all sound energy is directed perpendicular to the floor. Such devices are fixed to the ceiling, thereby providing the most uniform sound coverage. They are used for sounding rooms, offices, halls and long corridors. Such equipment is widespread in the following premises:

  • hotels;
  • cultural centers;
  • theaters;
  • shopping malls;
  • galleries, museums.

    Besides, systems are installed in buildings of railway stations and airports.

    Depending on the design features, they are mortise and suspended. In practice, the most widespread are units of the first type. They cut directly into the ceiling panels in a lattice pattern and are masked by a decorative lattice. This arrangement allows you to achieve an even distribution of sound throughout the room, and in addition, it is very convenient in a situation where the room is divided by partitions or has a fairly dense furniture.

    Ceiling loudspeakers fully meet all fire safety requirements.

    Model overview

    Are very popular ceiling loudspeakers of the ROXTON brand. The main advantage of these products is in a combination of extremely high acoustic performance with ease of installation and ergonomics.

    The equipment is made of ABC-plastic. The design features are thought out very carefully, the installation wiring is connected to the screw terminal block using connections of several gradations. The loudspeaker is directly attached to the false ceiling with built-in spring clips.

    There are other models that deserve attention.

    Alberto ACS — 03

    This equipment is intended for sounding buildings and structures as part of a music broadcasting and warning system. Has a rated power of 3 W, the operating frequency range varies from 110 to 16000 Hz with a sensitivity of 91 dB.

    The body is made of plastic, the decorative grille is metal. White color. The loudspeakers are small - 172x65 mm.

    Inter — M APT

    The equipment is intended for installation in false ceilings, but can also be fixed on wall panels indoors. Depending on the model, the power is 1 -5W, the frequency range is in the range of 320-20000 Hz. The sound impedance parameter is 83 dB.

    The body and grille are made of white plastic. Dimensions are 120x120x55 mm. It can operate on lines with voltages of 70 and 100 V.

    Installation features

    In order to achieve the most uniform sound throughout the covered area, pay special attention to the correct installation of the ceiling loudspeakers. If the installation is not performed correctly, then furniture with partitions will interfere with the movement of sound waves, and the space from floor to ceiling will begin to resonate and form interference.

    When designing the placement, the directional diagram of the sound radiation should be drawn up. It will allow you to correctly calculate the number of speakers required to serve the area. The diagram has the shape of a circle, it directly depends on the parameters of the equipment power and the mounting height.

    The higher the speakers are mounted, the more space they can cover. However, for maximum audibility, their power will have to increase in direct proportion to the installation height.

    It is important that the following conditions are observed in the room:

    • false ceilings are required, since it is in them that the loudspeaker is mounted;
    • low wall height - this equipment is far from the listener, so in rooms with too high ceilings, too much power is required to achieve the required sound pressure.

    If these conditions are not met, then installing ceiling loudspeakers will be ineffective and impractical, as it will require:

    • significant costs for fixing equipment in the absence of a false ceiling;
    • more power of the amplifier and speakers in case the ceilings are higher than 6 m.
