Features of water sockets

In this article we will talk about such an interesting element of the irrigation system as a water outlet (water outlet, watering hydrant, water outlet). By and large, the areas of use of this component are not only automatic irrigation systems, but also various water supply systems: individual water communication systems, a water wash access point in a car park, a unit adapted to an additionally available automatic irrigation system, and others.

The water outlet is the point where the water hose connects to the water source. Water sockets are named similarly to electrical outlets. Such devices are constantly under pressure, and therefore do not need to be turned on. All that is required is to plug in the gun, which will start the pump and the automatic irrigation system will begin to function.

The external design, of course, is different for everyone, but the general principle of operation is the same for everyone. Water sockets can be made of plastic and metal. A plastic hydraulic socket (plastic hydrant) serves as an element of manual irrigation of an automatic irrigation system and is used at individual and small commercial facilities.

The design of water sockets is made in 2 main variations. Their key differences are in the way they are connected to the water:

1. with a key;

2. in an individual box (with a ball valve).

This is a small hydrant. Its spring-loaded shut-off valve is set to the open (operating) position using a specialized wrench. Removing which instantly closes the water outlet.

Prevents unauthorized opening of the structure, which is important for families with children. Manufactured from highly durable plastic. Installed directly into the soil. Additionally protected by a lid.

Designed for traditional threaded connection of external devices: sprinkler, hose connection. It can be opened and closed by turning the handle of the ball valve, which is made of bronze or brass.

Such a water outlet is simple and reliable to use, however, to protect against mechanical damage and the formation of rust, they are certainly installed in plastic boxes for underground installation. The green top cover perfectly reproduces the vegetation and makes the device inconspicuous, but quickly accessible.

As mentioned above, the water outlet is a device for easy and quick access to water. They are mounted on pressure main pipelines of engineering and technical complexes that provide irrigation to a certain area. Sockets do not need any kind of automation, they simply give you water wherever you want. Taking into account the peculiarities of the zoning of the relief and the direction of use of the land plot, these can be:

• a parking lot where water is required to wash a car;

• greenhouses, greenhouses and flower gardens, where automatic watering is often combined or replaced by manual watering;

• sports and playgrounds, barbecue area, where from time to time it is necessary to irrigate gravel and paved surfaces;

• watering trees.

The large number of water sockets makes it possible to greatly facilitate the maintenance of vegetation and to practice short hoses for this.

If you install a street water outlet where you put your vehicle, then you can connect your own mini-car wash to it. It is practical when you can wash your car directly in your parking lot without getting your feet entangled in long hoses.

All supply pipelines are located underground, which will protect them from collisions with vehicles. The water outlet itself is equipped with a specialized box that will protect it. This box has a green color and differs little from the grass of the lawn.

It will be useful to install a water outlet near the area where you cook barbecue and kebabs. By connecting a hose to it, you will wash away all the dirt from tables and work surfaces with a powerful water pressure.

Equally, a water outlet can be practiced as a fire hydrant as the meat is cooked over an open flame.

It is possible to install a series of water sockets along the pedestrian paths. By connecting a hose or a high-pressure mini-washer to them, you will quickly cope with cleaning the tracks. And there is no need to pull long sleeves all over the section.

If there are few large trees on the site, then you can replace the system of root irrigation with water sockets. In other words, to make irrigation for them is not automatic, but manual, only more comfortable. A similar technique can be used to irrigate berries and even flowers.
