Its emerald color with a malachite tint looks natural and very lively. In addition, you can sow with it not only a plot in the country, but also any park area.

Peculiarities

It should be noted that the popularity of Canada Green lawn grass is quite justified. Consider the benefits that make it stand out from other herbs.

  • Environmental properties. This type of grass is able to strengthen the soil, cleanse the air from harmful substances, reduce the amount of dust around, and also significantly improve the microclimate of the entire site.
  • High resistance to cold and frost. A lawn planted with Canada Green stays green even under the snow. Plants grow beautifully even in shaded areas, forming a perennial bright green carpet. In addition, the grass is not afraid of drought, which is important for people who do not always have time for regular watering of the area.
  • Suitable for almost any soil. Grass grows equally well almost everywhere. Of course, the soil composition and soil structure must be within reasonable limits of the level of cultivation.
  • High efficiency of "killing" the germination of weeds. The lawn grass does not give any chance for weeds to grow in the sown area. It will not be easy for small pests to survive.
  • Low maintenance requirements. Canada Green grass does not require special personal care, so it can be used for landscaping playgrounds, areas around car parks, football fields.

Description of the assortment

Lawn grass Canada Green is a fairly resilient mixture with excellent decorative properties. Its narrow stems are soft and silky, so it is pleasant to walk on it even with bare feet. The color of the plants is mainly malachite-emerald. And only some varieties of grass can have either light shades or darker (marble). The height of these plants is in the range of 10-15 cm, and the roots are located in the ground at a depth of 6 cm.

The composition of the grass mixture includes the following types of plants:

  • meadow bluegrass, considered the earliest cereal;
  • several varieties of fescue;
  • ryegrass (1-2 grades).

It should be noted that this mixture is represented by self-propagating seeds. This means that the grass does not need to be sown over and over again.

And only if the seedlings turned out to be very rare and uneven, you can sow the area with grass again.

How to plant grass?

It is best to plant your lawn during these periods:

  • from mid-spring to early summer;
  • from late summer to mid-autumn.

Before sowing, be sure to clear the entire area of debris and calculate the amount of grass. So, for 10 sq. meters will require approximately 5 kg of Canada Green grass. Now you can consider in detail the whole process of planting lawn grass.

  • Need to dig up the groundusing either a conventional bayonet shovel or a pitchfork. Then, using a rake, the soil must be carefully leveled and fluffed.
  • After that, you should manually scatter the seeds evenly. over the entire excavated area, and then level the soil with the same rake. At the same time, the seeds must be sprinkled with earth at the same time, trying to ensure their depth of occurrence of about 4-6 cm. You may even have to add a little earth for this on top of the planting.
  • The next step is rolling the sown area. This is required in order for the lawnmower to move freely when mowing the lawn in the future, without bumping into stones, earth clods, roots of bushes or trees. For rolling a small area, you should not buy some special device (for example, a roller) - an ordinary barrel with a lid can replace it. This container is filled with water, the lid is tightly closed, and then rolled back and forth on the future lawn. And also a cut of a metal pipe with a suitable diameter is suitable for this.
  • The final step in sowing Canada Green is watering. This procedure must be performed very carefully and evenly. True, you will need a specially purchased nozzle for the irrigation hose. Otherwise, the grass will grow unevenly, and this is fraught with tears in the grass carpet, where weeds can germinate.

Care rules

To get a beautiful lawn, you need to create the right care. Seedlings will begin to appear in 7-10 days. It should be noted that the percentage of grass germination is 96%. After sprouting, the lawn needs to be watered daily. But you can't do it during the day - under the scorching sun.

When watering, droplets remain on the grass, which, when directly hit by the sun's rays, turn into a kind of lens. And through them, the rays can burn through tender seedlings, as a result of which they simply die. Therefore, it is worth watering the lawn either early in the morning or late in the evening when the heat subsides. If there is no sun, you can water at any time of the day.

The height of the lawn grass should be within 5-7 cm. This is required so that the spikelet cannot tie. However, do not worry if even the grass has grown more than the allowable rate.

The main thing is not to cut it off immediately to the desired height. This must be done in several stages: on the first day, cut 3-4 cm, then the same amount until the grass reaches the desired height.

In addition, fertilizer should be applied on time so that the grass is always bright and thick.

  • In the spring, when the snow melts, as well as in July, you can feed the lawn with nitrogen fertilizers. They will need about 50 g per 1 sq. meter.
  • You can make top dressing with potash or phosphorus compositions not only in early spring, but also in summer. These types of fertilizers will help plants develop better root systems and promote healthy seedlings.
  • Humus can be added during planting and after mowing. For 1 sq. meter will require 5 kg of the mixture.

Whatever fertilizers are used, after applying them, it is imperative to water the lawn.

Review overview

Since the Canada Green grass appeared on the market quite recently, it is not yet clear to all interested users what it is. However, there are people who already use it on their site. Almost all reviews mention the fact that the seeds are attacked by birds after sowing.

The birds must either be driven off on their own, or put a "ratchet" to scare away (the usual scarecrow does not help much). In addition, most people claim that seeds sprout only after 2 weeks, but not earlier, as indicated by the manufacturers. If you do not follow all the rules of care, the grass will thin out and degenerate.

But there are also positive reviews about Canada Green. If the area on which such grass is sown has not been desolate before, but received a normal amount of nutrients, then the grass will grow guaranteed healthy and thick.

To summarize, we can tell those who want to create a lawn on their site that it is probably worth trying to sow Canada Green lawn after all. But at the same time, be sure to adhere to the rules that are indicated on the package.
