TISE foundation: advantages and disadvantages
One of the types of pile or pile-grillage foundation is a base made using TISE technology. Its distinctive characteristic is that by the end the piles thicken and take the shape of a dome, thanks to which the pile foundations can be used on heaving soils.
Peculiarities
It is not for nothing that the TISE foundation is called universal, it is designed for various soils, the only exceptions are rocks. The building can have several floors and a reinforced concrete floor, but this will not affect the strength and reliability of the structure. But this does not mean that he has absolutely no flaws.
This design has proven itself excellently on highly loamy soils., on which other types of foundations crack after a few years. The TISE foundation is appropriate for use in areas located close to railway tracks or a highway of trucks. An ordinary columnar foundation collapses during vibrations, and for the TISE foundation they are completely invisible.
The calculation of the foundation must begin with a thorough study and analysis of the site. After that, the territory is marked and drilled. For this, a manual foundation drill TISE F300, F250, F200 is used - the diameter corresponds to the indicator in the name. The piles can be deepened to a maximum depth of 2.20 meters. There are practically no reviews against the founding of TISE, all the owners were satisfied with their choice.
pros
According to professionals, the foundation, erected using the TISE technology, has a huge number of advantages:
- Affordable price - such a structure will cost 2 times less than a traditional strip foundation. During installation, the scale of earthworks and the cost of concrete are reduced, moreover, there is no need to involve special equipment.
- Installation of such a base can be carried out at any time of the year and in any weather conditions.
- Arrangement work will not take much time. Such a foundation is great for individual construction, so even a self-taught master can quickly install it.
Experts also note the fact that it is possible to carry out communications without difficulties on the erected building, and this is another indisputable advantage of the foundation.
Minuses
As with any product, a structure erected using the TISE technology there are also several disadvantages:
- Such a foundation cannot be built on muddy or watered soil. At high loads, the piles sag and become damaged.
- Manual labor is required - drilling in hard and rocky areas is difficult, and problems with the well appear. But even in such a situation, you can do without the help of specialists.
- You cannot make a basement for the entire area of the house.
- It is necessary to carry out a wide blind area.
Considering all the characteristics of the foundation made using the TISE technology, we can say with confidence that it is ideal for private construction, and is also economical.
Payment
To correctly calculate the foundation, you need to determine the required number of piles.
To do this, adhere to the following sequence:
- Calculate the total load on the foundation, taking into account the design of the structure. It is necessary to take into account the weight of the structure with the grillage and all walls, the weight of the roof, ceilings and floors. Add all these indicators and multiply by 1.2, multiply the result by 1.3. The result obtained is an indicator of the load on the piles.
- Then it is necessary to calculate the bearing capacity of the bored pile. To do this, you need to go to the architectural department of the city to find out the geological features of the site and what soils are below the freezing depth. Employees of the department will quickly calculate and tell you the maximum load using the table.
- Copy the foundation plan of the project. Divide the maximum structure load by the pile load. Thus, you will find out the required number of pillars.
- On the copies of the plans, mark the location of all the piles. First, piles are indicated at the corners of the field, then at the joints, and the remaining volume is evenly distributed over the site.
This will give you a foundation plan that you can work on in the future.
On average, for a brick house or a shell building for each square of the territory, a load of 2400 kg is permissible, for houses made of various types of concrete (foam or aerated concrete) - 2000 kg, and for wooden and frame structures - 1800 kg. These indicators can be guided approximately.
Construction
The universal foundation, erected using the TISE technology, is in demand, because it is inexpensive, and its construction does not take much time, besides, everything can be done by hand. Initially, carefully prepare the site, namely, remove the topsoil and mount the rags.
Then mark the location of the piles and the site. For this, the hydro level is used. Then cut the pegs a little and place nails in the outer corners of the area, fixing the rope on them, you can also use strong fishing line. When this work is done, install the stakes for the load-bearing walls.
For the installation of the cast-off frame, round timber from a board with a thickness of 50 mm is used. It is recommended to use a garden drill. It is more economical and convenient to make a semi-solid cast-off, on which it is imperative to determine the zero level.
Then the installation of smooth bars is carried out, which are attached to the boards. There should be a zero level on top. Please note that the cast-off is installed for control, then it is dismantled. Dig a hole around the area and start drilling. To begin with, it is recommended to complete approximately 5 wells, after which they need to be expanded.
If there is a small amount of sand in the soil, then drilling will be difficult and this work will take a long time. To facilitate the process, pour 5 buckets of water into each well overnight, this will soften the soil and the next day it will be easier to enlarge the well. This way you can handle it without special equipment.
When installing the TISE base, do not forget about the reinforcement. You can find out the length of the bar based on the depth of the support. If the reinforcement is barely noticeable because of the post, it can be further used as a vibrating compactor for concreting, which will remove the remaining air from the concrete.
The next procedure is waterproofing, for which roofing material is used. For installation, the material must be divided into pieces and rolled into a cylinder. The product is placed in the well, but only when the reinforcement is installed. Sprinkle soil over the visible end of the shirt. Installation of the TISE foundation requires the fastest possible concreting.
Experts recommend filling several wells at the same time.
When you fill in the pillars and fill in the supports, start making the grillage. For this, shields are installed, they are covered with durable polyethylene. The formwork is fixed with pins, and holes are made in the timber on both sides. One end of the stud is folded over the other, on which the washer and nut are fixed. Reinforcement is installed on the studs, it is fixed with plastic ties.
The indisputable advantage of this foundation is the lack of drainage. It is not necessary to carry out insulation of the blind area and pick-up. And so that the drains do not act destructively on the areas adjacent to the blind area, stormwater gutters are installed outside.
Advice
The TISE technology foundation can be used for buildings of several floors and not worry that they will sag. But remember that medium-sized houses weighing about 380 tons on soft ground need a large number of TISE supports, which is very difficult to do on your own, but still possible.
In order for the construction of the foundation to be completed quickly and efficiently, the following recommendations must be taken into account:
- First of all, it is better to drill the cylindrical parts of all wells, and only then expand them. This sequence will reduce the time for mounting and dismounting the drill plow.
- During drilling, stones can make work difficult. The little ones will automatically go into the drive, but the big ones will have to be taken out with the hoe. Therefore, if you come across a large boulder, then start drilling a little further. A maximum offset of 500 cm is permissible.
- If the soil begins to crumble during the expansion of the well, proceed to concreting as soon as possible. We drilled one well - and immediately concrete it. This procedure should be performed on sandy soils and at elevated groundwater levels.
- If the site has an uneven relief, the grillage must be made either with a variable section height for small slopes, or stepped for large slopes.
Not all TISE foundation piles must be driven in without fail. Screw pile technology makes it possible to quickly erect a foundation. Screw piles work like a screw. This is a metal pipe with a diameter of 108 mm with a helical blade. The blade is designed in such a way that when screwed into the ground, the soil becomes denser. The cavity is concreted, and the resulting support has a bearing capacity of up to 5 tons. It is appropriate to build a foundation on piles on marshy soils and peat bogs, but only when constructing buildings made of wood.
The service life of a structure depends on the thickness of the pile metal and the intensity of the formation of corrosion on the surface, but, as a rule, it is much longer than that of other types of bases.
In individual construction, as in any other, the first thing owners want to save is without damaging the structure. The TISE technology foundation meets all consumer requirements, in addition, it allows you to take good care of natural resources. And the installation of the foundation can be performed by everyone, without even having special knowledge and skills. Costs are already reduced to a minimum, so experts categorically do not recommend saving on the quality of concrete or reinforcing material.
The TISE foundation has earned only positive reviews, which once again confirms its high quality, long service life, strength and reliability.
