1949

1959

Under the socialist (economic) regime, camera and lens manufacturers systematically united to form the Pentacon company.

1985

Pentacon teamed up with Carl Zeiss Jena to introduce a range of state-of-the-art sports cameras and binoculars.

1989

With the collapse of communism and the fall of the Berlin Wall, the partnership between Pentacon and Karl Zeiss ended. Following this, the Schneider Group invested heavily in Pentacon, helping them continue to manufacture Praktica cameras.
