Features of technology
The Olympus film camera belongs to the SLR cameras that appeared in the 60s of the last century. Its main feature is the ability to display the frame in the viewfinder using a special mirror in real time.
This allows you to observe the clear boundaries of the image, as well as preliminary estimate the sharpness of the shooting and, if necessary, change the settings.
The camera is designed in such a way that so that it fits comfortably in the palm of your hand, but does not press on it with excess weight... The simple interface is suitable for use even by young children.
Most popular models
There are many interesting models.
- One of the more popular film cameras is Olympus XA. The compact device has a quality lens and aperture priority. The exposure meter is charged with a pair of button batteries.
- Another worthy model is considered Olympus OM 10... The dimensions of the body are only 13.5 and 7 cm. This film camera functions only with aperture priority, but the presence of a manual adapter allows you to choose the settings yourself. The bright and large viewfinder covers 93% of the field of view.
- Olympus OM-1 used today, although it was produced only from 1973 to 1979. The plastic housing has an opening rear panel with a hidden lock. The size of the resulting frame is 24 by 36 mm. You must use 35 mm perforated film for this camera.
- The basic camera for every day is deservedly called Olympus MJU II. The camera does not require any special photography skills and, thanks to its simple interface, is often purchased for children. The compact model measures 10.8 x 6 cm and weighs only 145 g. The focal length of the lens with aspherical lenses is 35 mm. The aperture of 2.8 is the maximum for cameras of this type.
This indicates that a large amount of light is passing through the lens, which means that you can use a fast shutter speed. As a result, even fine-grained and not particularly sensitive films are suitable for shooting. Aspherical lenses improve optical performance. A special protective shutter protects the lens from drops and dust particles. A separate plus is the presence of a self-timer with a 10-second delay.
