The garden, decorated with unusual phloxes, always attracts attention. This flower can be used in various styles of landscape design, and for this it is loved by many gardeners. In addition, flower growers are attracted by the unpretentiousness of the culture and the variety of species. One of the popular panicle varieties is Sherbet Blend.

Description

The culture of the presented variety reaches a height of 90 cm. The bush is strong, the inflorescence is dense. Flowering lasts from August to September. The plant has very beautiful delicate flowers with light pink or white petals with a yellow-green frame. Such flowers can form the basis of a flower arrangement. Painterly paintings can be created by planting Sherbet Blend phlox with other pink flowers in mixborders or singly with shrubs in the corners of the garden.

A garden filled with phlox is always fragrant.

Landing rules

Planting is carried out in spring or autumn, some growers dare to carry out the procedure even in summer. The most suitable seedling is an instance with an earthen lump. The landing area should be well lit and sheltered from the wind. For example, a flower bed next to rare shrubs or trees that creates a light shade is suitable.

Paniculate phlox prefer to develop in moist and loose soil. Choose an area with slightly acidic or neutral sandy loam soil. To enrich the land with useful substances, you should use mineral fertilizers when planting, such as compost or humus.

The process consists of several steps.

  1. Dig a planting hole so deep that the roots of the seedling can freely fit in it.
  2. If the soil is clay, then arrange a drainage system.
  3. Place organic fertilizer with added ash. If the procedure is carried out in the fall, then add the minimum amount of dressings.
  4. Plant the seedling so that the roots are 4 cm deep.
  5. Fill with garden soil on top, tamp and water the planting site.

Growing

Watering is an important step in caring for a crop. It should be regular and moderate; special attention should be paid to the procedure in dry weather. It is recommended to moisten the garden bed in the evening.

It is important not to overdo it with a portion of water: its excess threatens the appearance of powdery mildew.

Periodically, the plant needs loosening and weeding. Also, the flowers should be fertilized. Humus can be used as a top dressing. Wood ash is also suitable for the health and decorativeness of the variety. In the fall, after flowering, potassium-phosphate fertilizers are applied: they will help strengthen the roots for winter and increase the frost resistance index.

Also, before wintering, wilted leaves and stems should be eliminated, scattered with humus around the bush and covered with spruce branches - these measures will allow the plant to survive frosts.

The transplant is carried out every seven years. At this time, the bush is divided and the resulting specimens are transplanted to a new place. If the shrub has reached a large size, then it is tied up.

Reproduction methods

To plant flowers of the presented variety can be done by all known methods.

  • Division of the bush. Held in spring or early fall. The bush is carefully removed from the ground, after wetting the site, cut into several parts, each of which must contain thick and strong stems, and transplanted.
  • Cuttings. The procedure is carried out in the first half of the summer. In June, young cuttings root without problems.Within a month, they can be planted in a permanent place.
  • Reproduction by layering. Bend the extreme stem to the ground, fix and mulch the joint area with a mixture containing humus and peat. By autumn, independent bushes are formed from the layers.
  • Sowing with seeds. Stratified seeds are planted in a container, over time, the seedlings dive, and even later are transplanted into a greenhouse. In the first weeks of May, the sprouts are planted in open ground.
