How to embed hinges into an interior door?

Every man, owner of his own apartment or house, can use such a skill as installing interior doors. In this case, it is necessary to competently carry out the installation of the hinges itself during the installation of the doors - the further functioning of the entire interior structure will depend on this.

When choosing the type of interior door for their home, not everyone begins to think about the details, which also play a serious role in the installation. Therefore, in addition to the design of the door leaf and the reliability of the acquired frame, special attention should be paid to such a trifle as hinges. By the way, an ordinary door leaf, to which suitable awnings were not specially selected, is considered an ordinary simple blank, that is, there is little sense from it. After mounting the hinges, the door will turn into a functional complete structure.

There are five types of door canopies that are used more often than usual today. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the existing types before installing the interior structures. The specificity of the door design can be determined by the peculiarity of the installation of the hinges.

• Italian, that is, those that are hinged with a special design. Canopies of this type are mainly mounted on European door models.

• Screw-in - products without plates. Instead of plates, these canopies have pins located on the pivot axis. This type of product is ideal for lightweight door leaves.

• Hidden - these are products that are mounted only on the most expensive interior structures. These hinges have a special hinge recessed inside the door leaf.

• Card. These options are also called direct. This type is the simplest, on the sides it is equipped with special plates.

• Corner awnings only the angular shape of the plates differs from the cards. This type of hinge is usually installed on a pendulum door structure.

Tools that will be needed during installation:

• construction knife;
• a stand that will be used for door leaves;
• the template used for the router;
• chisel with a screwdriver;
• milling cutter;
• building level with pencil and hammer.

The doors, which are installed on split sheds, can always be removed, while the hinges themselves do not need to be dismantled. Before purchasing such products, it is important to know what type of opening the interior door is, since it can be left or right. The universal type is used for left and right opening doors. This type of hinge will have to be dismantled if the door needs to be removed - you will have to unscrew the screws from the box itself.

Next, it is worth deciding on the size of the door in order to calculate the number of required hinges.

The number of awnings can be determined by the criteria below.

• Loop cards, dimensions of its thickness. Thick card - high-quality fastening of the door to the box. In this case, the backlash will be less, as well as the sagging of the web itself.
• Electroplating with polishing. The coating will be without sags, scratches and chips, that is, uniform.
• Mating, as well as the mandatory alignment of parts. In addition, the loop cards must fit perfectly to each other, that is, they must be the same. The high quality is confirmed by the presence of bearings that replace ordinary anti-squeak rings.
• Awnings. First of all, you need to decide on the place where the awnings will be installed, and then make the markup.

From the edges above and below, respectively, measure about 250 mm. Then a loop is applied to the measured point and the entire perimeter is outlined with a pencil. After that, a cut is made under the loop itself in the canvas.

First, they attach one half of the canopy to the interior structure, and then the other to the box itself. By the way, you should embed the awnings with the logo upwards - this will allow you to install the products correctly.

Of course, in order to achieve an even cut, you need to use a professional milling machine. It's also better to get a template.

The milling cutter is adjusted to the required cutting depth, that is, to the thickness of the loop card. Only then can the milling holes be made.

Then the corners must be additionally processed using a straight and corner chisel. The cut is checked by applying a loop, which should fit perfectly into this prepared hole.

After that, holes are prepared for self-tapping screws. In order to correctly fix the hinges with them, holes are drilled in advance during installation. To save time on marking, it is better to use a thin drill.

In the box, a cut is also made for each of the loops. To correctly place the hole for the second halves of the hinges, you should prepare the box itself. For this, cuts are made in the box at an angle of 45 degrees. You also need to calculate the height of the gap and the canvas itself in relation to the floor.

There are several ways to mark each hole for the hinges.

The corner of the door frame is collected, and then the desired segment is measured with a tape measure - the distance should be comparable to the markings marked on the surface of the canvas.

Then the side piece is applied directly to the door itself - here you need to take into account the gap from the bottom of the floor. After that, the door with the frame is docked, and the marking is done.

In the same way, holes are made for the remaining halves of the hinges in the box.

Then cuts are made with a chisel - for this you can use milling. The corners are aligned.

Using a drill, prepare a section where the self-tapping screw will be installed in the future.

After all the manipulations, you can begin to fix the canvas itself to the door frame. In the work, you can put wooden wedges, as professionals do. After installing the box and hinges on the door leaf, preparing the place on the box, producing fasteners for the second half of the awnings and completely joining the structure, the door leaf is attached to the box - now you can screw the second part of the hinges with self-tapping screws.

Then the adjustment is made. It is necessary to adjust the gaps so that the door adjoins directly to the frame evenly. After that, the gap between the doorway and the frame is foamed.
