Doors with a double-glazed window will help to create an aesthetic appearance of the house, to emphasize the hospitality and cordiality of the owners. They give the room lightness, airiness and look very elegant. Glass is one of the most demanded building and finishing materials, which are very popular among consumers.

Advantages of insulating glass products

The main advantages of doors with glass inserts include:

  • the possibility of installation in rooms without windows - the product transmits light well;
  • modern double-glazed windows do an excellent job with the functions of sound and heat insulation;
  • the design allows you to see those who came to visit, to monitor the yard and what the children are doing in other rooms.

Due to the transmission of sunlight in the rooms, you do not have to often turn on the light, which entails a decrease in financial costs for electricity. Light-loving potted plants can be placed in the hallway of the house. In addition, the doors look original, especially if the glass insert is not standard (square or rectangular), but of an unusual shape (round, triangular, wavy).

What are they?

There are two main types of double-glazed doors:

  • Interroom - mounted indoors. Such products are divided into traditional swing designs, sliding and sliding. The last two types are used quite often, because they do not need a large area for opening, and when closed, they almost merge with the wall and become one with it.
  • Input - are installed at the entrance to the house. They are made in such a way as to protect the home from the penetration of cold. Products are found mainly in private ownership - in an apartment building, few people dare to put a door through which you can see everything that happens inside the premises.

Thermal break products are a good entry design option. In the winter season, ordinary doors let in the cold and can literally freeze through. But this is not a problem for structures with a thermal break - they are a canvas divided into several parts that conduct heat. When creating doors, a material with low thermal conductivity is used, due to which heat is retained and maintained in the house.

In country houses, some owners prefer to install doors with a lattice and double-glazed windows. The grill serves as additional protection against burglary and intruders.

The products are suitable for those who have doubts about the reliability of a double-glazed structure, but want to install it in their home.

Design

Any door consists of a frame reinforced with profiles. They are placed inside the product and prevent deformations. Each design is completed with hinges and handles for opening. Glasses are inserted into the frame and in some cases protected - for this purpose, forged parts are used, which act as a decoration.

Doors with single-chamber double-glazed windows have an insert of two glasses - there is one chamber between them. It is filled with inert gases - most often argon or krypton, which increase sound insulation. The peculiarities of double-glazed windows are light weight, low price, but poor heat retention, therefore they are used for interior doors or entrance structures mounted in conditions of moderate temperatures.

Double-glazed windows have three glasses and two air chambers, also filled with inert gases.Doors with such double-glazed windows resist various noises much better and provide a comfortable microclimate in the house.

Products with three-chamber double-glazed windows are more massive than the rest. The door is fitted with an insert of four glass panes forming three chambers.

It is recommended to install such structures in houses located in an area of high noise or harsh climatic conditions.

Glass types

For the production of door structures, various types of glass are used:

  • Products with reinforced glass equipped with a metal mesh are in demand. This glass is quite thick, due to which the doors have good sound insulation properties.
  • Tempered glass is often used to create front doors. Their quality characteristics and wear resistance are at a high level, due to which the designs are popular among consumers.
  • Triplex is several layers of glass connected by a film or liquid polymer. Triplex doors are resistant to mechanical stress and are characterized by increased strength.
  • Armored glasses are rare and are inserted into armored doors.
  • Energy-saving glass has a special coating - it contains rare earth metals. Such products perfectly retain heat in the cold season and cool the room when it's hot outside.
  • Tinted windows are chosen by those who do not want to see the inside of the house from the street side. In this case, the street will be visible from the premises.
  • Stained glass will help revive the facade of the building, bring bright colors.
  • Corrugated or frosted glass is installed on the interior doors, which perform a decorative function.

Dimensions (edit)

Basically, all manufacturers produce doors with standard dimensions established by GOST. For interior products, the height of the door leaf should be 190 or 200 cm.

Single leaf door width:

  • for a bathroom and a bathroom - 60 cm;
  • for the kitchen - 70 cm;
  • for rooms - 80-90 cm.

Double-leaf structures have two canvases - the width of each of them corresponds to the dimensions of single-leaf products (for example, 60 cm). The flaps can have different widths (60 and 80 cm).

For entrance doors, the leaf height is 200 cm, and the width of single-leaf structures is 80 or 90 cm.The width of double-leaf structures with identical leafs varies between 60-80 cm.

Materials (edit)

Double-glazed doors are made of a wide variety of materials. Interroom wooden structures are the most common. Also, wood is used to create entrance doors. They look rich, durable and environmentally friendly. Products made from natural wood are expensive, so imitations of chipboard or veneer are produced.

Entrance doors are made from various materials:

  • Pvc - often used to equip an exit to a balcony or loggia. A modern plastic door is resistant to moisture and corrosion, has a long service life, and is easy to clean.
  • Aluminum - aluminum acts as a frame for sliding structures. The material does not retain heat well and needs protection if the product serves as an exit to the street. In such cases, it is rational to install a lattice or roller shutter.
  • Iron door - the product will help prevent extraneous sounds from entering the room, increase the thermal insulation of the house. Iron structures are quite strong and it is not so easy to break them, so the visit of uninvited guests is excluded. Previously, the steel door was protective and unattractive. Today, double-glazed windows are inserted into the products, and the metal structure is also decorated with laminate, leatherette, MDF panels.

Many doors are produced with forging - it can be patterned, in the form of floral ornaments.

Colors

Various colors are used for interior designs: from white to brightly flashy.If all doors with double-glazed windows go out into a common corridor, then the products should be selected in the same color.

Light shades (white, sand, pastel) are suitable for interiors in classic and Scandinavian style, Provence. The dark colors of the door should be combined with the floor, walls or furniture - then everything will look organic. Natural wood color is used in ethnic and historical style, country. If the house is two-story, then the shade of all interior doors can be combined with a staircase.

It is best if the color of the front door with double-glazed windows matches the shade of the facade of the house, or the details that stand out - blinds on windows, stucco. The common color is black. It suits any design.

Red looks great against the background of Asian motives. The green construction with double-glazed windows perfectly matches the white or brick façade. Deep blue is a good solution for classic style homes.
