Technical characteristics of PIR boards "TechnoNICOL"
Thermal insulation of premises is an important stage of construction. The modern construction market is filled with a huge amount of thermal insulation materials. PIR boards are such a raw material, they have many positive qualities, which it is useful to learn about in more detail.
What it is?
PIR boards are a heat-insulating building material in the form of block panels (sandwich panels), consisting of a polyisocyanurate (polymer material), which has a hard porous structure that is resistant to deformation and heat exposure, and an external retaining layer, which can be used as such materials like foil, plastic films, sheet steel or kraft paper.
Advantages
Polyisocyanurate is a close relative of polyurethane foam and has a number of valuable qualities that make it a popular and relevant building material for thermal insulation.
- Low thermal conductivity. High quality thermal insulation of ~ 0.022 W / m * K is ensured by many closed gas pores ~ 97%, while the rest of the frame fits in only 3% of the total volume and weight of the block.
- Non-flammability. When fire is directly applied to the surface of the material, it is charred and thereby creates a protective refractory layer that does not burn and does not support combustion.
- Protection against moisture and moisture. Special chemical treatments, as well as a protective outer layer, keep the material from decay, dampness and prolonged exposure to liquids, which allows it to be used to isolate not only warm rooms, but also cold ones: condensation does not form on it.
- Protection against damage during use. Covering the panel allows you to keep the polymer board intact during transportation, eliminating the need for specialized equipment and protecting it from minor damage, as well as directly during installation and further use.
- Rodent protection. Chemical impregnation repels rodents and other pests, eliminating the appearance of unwanted passages, holes and holes.
- Long service life. The high-class characteristics of PIR boards create ideal conditions for maintaining its original qualities after many years of use. Research data show that the slabs still perform well after 25 years of service. It is worth noting that this building material appeared in the world recently; research is physically limited by time since the creation and commissioning of the first such slabs. The minimum service life of the material is more than 25 years.
- Ease. During the manufacturing process, closed hollow cells are formed in the block, filled with a special inert gas, which best of all does not allow heat to pass through. The sheer number of these tiny pores in the final material makes the polyisocyanurate very lightweight, making it much easier to handle. When used, neither heavy equipment, nor a large number of workers, nor brute physical strength are required. All this saves resources.
- Simple handling. PIR blocks are easily influenced by tools and do not require serious force. For all its strength, the plates are conveniently cut with a clerical knife, retain their shape when screwing self-tapping screws into them, when driving nails and using dowels. They converge well and do not change size over the entire service life (they do not shrink or expand under the influence of external factors).
- Possibility of quick dismantling. The blocks can be easily removed and removed from the installed state, do not require special devices or protective elements, do not leave behind dirt and debris.
What are they needed for and where are they used?
This material is actively used in construction and reconstruction for thermal insulation of houses, heating or cooling objects and rooms that require constant temperature maintenance with minimal energy consumption.
Due to their physical and chemical properties, PIR boards are environmentally friendly and safe for health, and will not cause any additional difficulties in emergency situations.
Manufacturer
Until 2015, Russian companies purchased insulation materials outside the Russian Federation, since Russian insulation production enterprises were noticeably inferior in the quality of their products to their foreign competitors and did not have either produced material of similar quality or established production in the country.
The import of foreign materials had its drawbacks and difficulties associated with the timing, spending, quantity and quality of the imported products. This problem was solved by the TechnoNIKOL production company.
The TechnoNICOL company began its activity in Russia back in 1993 with the creation of roofing materials, after which it immediately began to be perceived as a leader in its production niche. In September 2015, it started production of PIR-type thermal insulation panels in Russia.
The company has a reputation as an honest and conscientious enterprise, responsible for its products and striving to grow in its industry based on the feedback and needs of its customers.
Reviews
Customers who use the panels refer to them as quality products that meet many requirements. Thanks to special grooves for fastening with the material, a person can work without professional skills, and the installation of this material is simple, fast and without debris. And also highly valued properties such as genuine incombustibility of the material and low thermal conductivity, which allows the use of products with a minimum thickness (20 mm), without losing the quality of thermal insulation.
Where can I buy?
You can buy PIR blocks in any hardware store, since the material is very popular and relevant today. But there is also the possibility of both online ordering and direct wholesale order from the manufacturer TechnoNICOL.

Precautionary measures
Before purchasing a product, always try to check its manufacturer's declared capabilities. This will help not only to ensure the quality of the purchased goods, but also to avoid disastrous consequences in the future. Be careful.
