Cabbage Pest Toothpaste

Cabbage is very often attacked by various pests. Therefore, in order to grow a good harvest, you need to learn how to deal with them correctly. Many gardeners use regular toothpaste for this purpose.

To treat cabbage beds, the toothpaste is used diluted. This solution has many advantages.:

• the product is cheap and very easy to prepare;

• the paste does not kill insects, but only scares them away;

• it poses no danger either to plants or to people;

• the solution helps with the defeat of the vegetable by late blight.

Toothpaste helps to get rid of the main enemies of cabbage.

1. Cruciferous fleas. They are activated in the spring as soon as the air temperature warms up to 15 degrees above zero. These bugs can destroy a young plant in just a few days.

2. Slugs and snails. Like fleas, these pests can destroy tender-leafed beds in less than a week.

3. Black and green aphids. Large colonies of aphids pose a threat throughout the entire ripening period of cabbage. Therefore, you need to get rid of them, barely noticing the signs of the appearance of bugs.

4. Caterpillars of scoops and whiteworms. The danger is posed by butterfly larvae. They eat up the leaves of both young and mature plants in a short time. If the leaves are treated with a solution of toothpaste, then the caterpillars will not want to feed on them and will immediately go to another territory.

5. Cabbage moth. If you water the beds with a solution of toothpaste, then this pest will not settle on either cabbage or other crucifers.

It is recommended to use a whitening toothpaste for treating plants. It works more efficiently and helps you deal with any problems much faster. Mint toothpaste, products with thyme, St. John's wort and chamomile are just as good at repelling pests. To prepare solutions, you do not need to buy toothpaste on purpose. You can use the remains of the product.

You can quickly prepare a solution to protect plants from cabbage butterflies and other pests. It is best to do this just before processing to keep it fresh.

There are 2 main ways of preparing a product for spraying plants at all stages of its development.

To protect your cabbage from enemies, you can treat it with a light toothpaste solution. It is prepared very simply. In 10 liters of water, in this case, you need to dilute 3 tablespoons of the product. The finished solution turns out to be cloudy and only slightly colored. If it is too transparent, you can add a few more grams of paste to the container with the liquid.

If the product is used for insect control, a small tube of paste is diluted in a liter of clean water. The mixture is more concentrated and has a rich aroma.

Some gardeners seek to perfect the recipe. For example, for greater efficiency 1 tablespoon of liquid soap is added to 1 liter of the prepared solution. And also washing powder can be added to the product in the same proportions.It works as effectively as soap.

Sometimes ground pepper, nuts and eggshells are added to the mixture. Everyone, without exception, can spray cabbage with such a solution. The mixture is harmless and protects plants well from pests.

Spraying cabbage is recommended in the evening or early morning. This should be done so that the leaves do not get burned.

Processing does not take much time. Plants are simply thoroughly sprayed with a solution of the desired concentration from all sides. You can use a spray bottle, sprayer or ordinary broom for treatment.

The rest of the product is used for spraying the soil next to the cabbage. Tooth powder can also be used to protect cabbage from pests. They are simply sprinkled on the soil next to the plants. But this is a more expensive way to get rid of insects and slugs, since a large amount of the product is usually spent on the treatment of the site.

In order to get rid of pests, it is not enough to process cabbage once. You need to spray it every 7-9 days for a month. If there are too many insects and slugs, you can process the plant more often.

For prevention, the product is used several times per season.

• In early spring, a few days after planting seedlings in open ground. At this stage, spraying the plants helps protect them from the cruciferous flea beetle.

• The second time you need to spray the cabbage one week after the first treatment. A less concentrated solution can be used at this stage.

• The third spraying is carried out to protect the plants from the whites. You need to carry out the procedure in the first weeks of June.

• If the cabbage is late, it will need to be processed again in July... This will help protect the plant from scoops and fleas.

You can use a simple toothpaste solution until harvest, since it is completely safe for human health and does not harm the plant itself.

Toothpaste is a fairly effective pest control agent. If you observe all the proportions and properly prepare the solution, then the plant will be healthy, and the harvest will be large.
