Features of incineration of garbage on the site in a barrel

At the dacha and in a country house, situations constantly arise when you need to get rid of garbage. In most cases, summer residents burn it. But this process should not be spontaneous. It is imperative to take into account the features of incineration of garbage on the site; it can be done more safely using a barrel.

Burning trash in an iron barrel in your garden is very convenient. You can always eliminate unnecessary pruned branches, dry grass, fallen leaves and other small debris in this way. But first you need to figure out whether it is generally possible to burn garbage in the country.

Most often, ashes from burnt garbage can be used as fertilizer in the beds, so this is very convenient for summer residents. In principle, the summer resident has the right to burn the garbage on his site. But not always. It is necessary to take into account some nuances so that everything goes well and no troubles happen.

First of all, you need to take into account that on a windy day, you cannot engage in incineration of garbage - and even in a barrel. One spark is enough - and a fire can break out instantly, especially if the weather is dry and hot for several weeks. On such days, by the way, the regime of a fire-hazardous period is in effect - employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations warn about this by sending SMS messages and posting information in the media about the prohibition of any work related to fire. On such days, it is strictly forbidden to burn garbage, even on your site in closed containers.

Among the advantages are the following:

• the ability to place the barrel where it is convenient at the moment;
• it is possible to avoid an open flame, which means it is safer;
• the ability to keep fire under control;
• it will be possible to avoid the formation of scorched earth.

The disadvantages include the fact that, using the barrel regularly, in any case, you will have to face the fact that it will become unusable due to the burnout of the walls.

Before you start burning garbage, you need to study all the legal aspects well in order to understand in which cases you cannot be charged with anything, and in which you will have to part with a certain amount of money without resistance. Therefore, it is worth paying attention to documents such as the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, article 20.4, the rules of the fire regime of the Russian Federation, paragraph 218, the order of the Ministry of Emergency Situations dated January 26, 2016. All of them point to the following aspects:

• it is permissible to use a barrel made of materials that cannot be ignited;
• buildings from a barrel with burning garbage should be located at a distance of 25 meters;
• there must be at least 50 meters to the forest;
• trees located on the site should be at a distance of 15 m;
• all objects that can ignite must be removed at least 5 meters, such as dry grass, branches, leaves.

There must be a lid nearby, with which, in case of unforeseen situations, you can cover the barrel. In the process of burning garbage in a barrel, you must not leave this place and leave the fire unattended. You should follow through and make sure the fire is extinguished.

If you violate any of these points, you can part with some amounts of money:

• individuals will have to pay 1,000–3,000 rubles, depending on the severity of the violation;
• the chairmen of dacha cooperatives will have to fork out and shell out 6000-15000 rubles;
• legal entities can pay for an offense up to two hundred thousand rubles.

Fire is a bad joke. It is not for nothing that they have been indoctrinated since childhood, this is evidenced by social advertising posted in public places. Incorrect incineration of garbage can create a hazardous situation that could result in loss of property, injury to people, and sometimes death. Therefore, it is imperative to comply with all the rules prescribed by regulatory documents.

In addition, other measures can be taken.

• For example, sprinkle the area where the barrel will be installed with sand or gravel.
• Children should be sent to a safe distance - they should not play near fire.
• You cannot burn construction waste in this way. It can release harmful substances into the surrounding atmosphere.
• Before proceeding with such a procedure, you need to take care of fire extinguishing means. For example, there should be a container with water nearby and a hose that can be easily opened and put out the fire if necessary. As a last resort, you need to keep a container of sand close at hand. Ideally, it is better to do this near a reservoir, if there is one in the country.
• It is also best to keep your mobile phone nearby in case of an emergency. The fire spreads very quickly, so it is extremely important to instantly orient yourself and call the firefighters without wasting a second.

When everything is ready, you can start the procedure. After everything has burned out, you need to extinguish the remnants of the fire with water or sand and cover the barrel with a roof. You should light a fire in clothes that cannot easily ignite in the event of a spark.

It is also worth thinking about the neighbors. Smoke from incinerated trash can spread to an adjacent area and cause inconvenience to others. Therefore, it is worth placing the barrel away from neighboring houses, not burning garbage in windy weather, and not doing this in the early morning or late evening when people are resting. It is wiser to do this during the day, when everyone is mostly busy working on their plots.
