All about Eurocube stands
It is important to know everything about stands for Eurocube already because these very containers are found more and more often. But it is not necessary to buy them - it may well be that a rack can be made with your own hands for a cube container according to drawings made of wood. In addition to studying the dimensions, it is also important to know how to make a metal frame.
Peculiarities
Theoretically, a water tank can be placed in the country or in another place directly on the ground and use it peacefully. However, a special support allows you to do all the same more practical and elegant. The Eurocube support is usually concreted in the ground. This circumstance must be taken into account when it is planned to equip it in a certain area.
To choose a specific option, you need to pay attention to:
- dimensions;
- used materials;
- ways of connecting them;
- load levels.
What are they?
It makes no sense to be especially sophisticated with the size of the stands. Most often they coincide with the dimensions of the Eurocube itself. Be sure to take into account the size of the seat. The height is selected solely at will.
When it comes to materials, wood and (even more preferable because of its reliability) metal are the best choices.
How to make from wood?
Tools and materials
It should be noted right away that the manufacture of stands for a eurocube from a bar is definitely not covered anywhere. All at least approximately suitable information for this relates to the arrangement of tanks and cisterns of other types, and most often - ordinary barrels. Therefore, all the drawings will not have to be copied in finished form (they simply do not exist), but to be worked out independently.
It is recommended to take oak and pine wood as a basis, as they are distinguished by the highest strength and convenience. The reliability of such breeds is also not questioned. For work you will need:
- timber in an independently calculated amount (sometimes it is replaced with logs with a section of 200-250 mm);
- antiseptic and devices for its application;
- nails and other hardware;
- channel or corner;
- hammer;
- drill;
- weather-resistant paint or enamel;
- paint brush;
- hand saw;
- plane;
- crushed stone (for filling holes);
- shovel.
Technology
When equipping a wooden support under the Eurotank with your own hands, it must be borne in mind that the container, plus the support, plus water, weighs very solidly. Therefore, the general assembly can eventually go into soft soil. Lining of thick plates made of metal or reinforced concrete lintels helps to avoid this. They guarantee optimal load distribution and high quality of the entire structure. It makes little sense to equip a buried foundation - unless the tank capacity exceeds 3000 liters.
According to a previously drawn up drawing, parts of the frame are hammered or screwed to each other. It is advisable to use nails of at least medium thickness. When using other hardware, it is required to pre-drill the nests for them. Excessive parts of a bar or log are sawn off.
Once installed, the stand is painted and / or sheathed on the outside to resist weathering.
Making a metal stand
Metal supports for a cube container are much more practical and reliable than wooden counterparts. Such structures allow the tank to be raised 1-2 m above the ground. In this case, the natural head is maintained and the need for pumps is reduced. But the stand should be thought out very carefully. Ideally, it should be buried and concreted at least 0.7 m.
The steel post will have to be welded using a conventional apparatus. The following will be quite suitable:
- pipe section 60x40x2;
- corners 35x35;
- channels of brand 10P.
Start by marking a rectangular section for the racks. The holes will have to be drilled to a depth of 1.6 m. The length of the frame racks is 3 m. The same 60x40 pipe is used for them.
Important: the racks should be set strictly according to the indications of the hydraulic level in order to ensure verticality.
The size of the underground segment is usually 1.4 m. But in some cases, it may differ - then they are guided by a personal need. After pouring with concrete, check immediately to see if the verticality has been lost. The gap between the individual posts must be the same at the top and bottom; in the presence of deviations from this distance or from the diagonal (strictly 1.562 m), they level everything, anticipating the hardening of concrete.
It is important to take care that the metal can withstand the limited exposure to snow and water. This is achieved by raising the columns of concrete above the ground - they simply cut out pieces of about 0.06 m from the curb tape or other material. The strips are wrapped in a circle, placed on fresh concrete and saturated with mortar. Spreading with earth helps to exclude unwinding of the tape. Sometimes, instead, the tape is simply stapled using a construction stapler.
Next, you should wait about a day, and then proceed to strapping the rack from above. At this moment, the main guide parts are welded on - the very channels. An auxiliary harness is made from a corner. After painting the assembly and after waiting 2-3 days, mount the Eurocube on the rack.
Many people draw water from the top. At the same time, a tie to the rack using a steel wire coated with a polymer layer helps to prevent overturning. The lifting height of the tank is determined by how it is going to be used. For drip irrigation of a garden and a vegetable garden, a height of 1 m is quite enough. The cross-section of the profiles is chosen such that they firmly hold the container even when filling under the lid.
In some cases, a tower is made of metal for a 2.5 m eurocube. For it, profiles 40x60x2 are used. A "basket" is made under the cube itself.
This solution completely prevents the tank from slipping. It is noted that it is suitable for organizing a summer shower and guarantees optimal pressure.
If you make a tower 3 m in size, then you can sheathe it with different materials of your choice or cover it with an awning. It is recommended to paint in 3 coats (the first is the primer). Below you can equip something like a barn or a small warehouse with a door. Important: the dimensioning error should not exceed 0.01 m.
There are also alternative options:
- creation of a frame from tubing drill pipe (on which a pallet is placed);
- the use of plastic euro pallets (they are quite durable, but it will be necessary to protect the gaps around the perimeter from moisture, dust and snow);
- laying out tires filled from the inside with sand or soil (such a structure can be easily disassembled and dismantled, does not require welding and hardware at all).
