Gazebo for giving with barbecue and barbecue: design options
Love for food cooked on an open fire remained with us from our ancestors. When organizing picnics with barbecue in the forest or on the river, you wonder if you will receive a fine from the fire inspection.
Owners of their own summer cottages do not need to worry about this, they just have to build a gazebo with a stove according to all the rules, and after a hard working week with friends or family, enjoy the fresh air, nature and food cooked on a "live" fire.
Features and Benefits
Gazebos with barbecue and barbecue replaced summer kitchens, without which not a single rural house could do in Soviet times. If the gazebo for the summer cottage is made of a closed type, electricity and water supply are installed, it will differ from the summer kitchen only in its modern design.
The positive side of such a structure is the proper rest of its owners. Having left the bustle of the city to the dacha, you can comfortably cook any dish and relax in a cozy gazebo.
But in order to create a recreation area, you must first work hard. Choose a place, draw up a plan, sketch, estimate, start construction. If the gazebo is of a closed type, with communications and a stove, permission from the relevant organizations may be required... It would be nice, in addition to a barbecue and a barbecue, to arrange a smokehouse and a hob, then in the summer there is no need to enter the house.
Such a gazebo will take up a lot of space, but its functionality can even compete with your home: here you can cook food, relax, work on a laptop, do knitting or play board games, celebrate a holiday with family and friends.
Types of buildings
There are three main types of gazebos: open, closed and semi-open. In addition, they can be distinguished by their configuration, style, dimensions, materials of which they are made, and by their internal equipment.
Even before starting construction work, you should understand what kind of gazebo is needed. A small, open type, with a small barbecue and barbecue will cost much less than a large solid building. But if the family is large or loves holidays, a more voluminous gazebo is needed. Using the cottage only in the summer, you can not overload the space with walls - just one roof from the rain is enough.
To use the premises in the winter, you will have to build a capital structure with a roof, walls, communications, windows and a door.
Open gazebo virtually no walls, it is exposed to wind, rain and snow. It is used only in good weather and warm seasons.... In defense of such a structure, we can say that it does not take up much space, it looks elegant and airy, it organically fits into the surrounding landscape.
Being in it, you feel yourself alone with nature. Climbing plants will decorate the gazebo and help shelter from the scorching sun.
Closed building they are built separately from the house or next to it, having thought over the insulated transitions that will come in handy in the winter. Such a room is zoned, separating the dining room from the kitchen. You can heat it with electric heaters.
Semi-open structure Consists of a roof and two to three walls, it can protect against slanting rain, while maintaining the feeling of being in the fresh air.Sometimes the missing walls are made by transformers, capable of closing in bad weather or cool times of the day.
Semi-open gazebos are preferred more often than other options - many find this compromise solution the most acceptable.
Buildings with barbecue and barbecue differ in configuration:
- round gazebos have a small area, conditional walls can be filled with garden vegetation;
- rectangular buildings are more acceptable for building a stove and barbecue, which are given a certain side with one or more walls that protect the fire from the wind;
- a square-shaped gazebo is built according to the rectangular principle, only the dining area will be smaller;
- the polygonal design is complex and easy to zone, but needs to be well thought out so as not to look ridiculous. If done correctly, the gazebo will be an amazing decoration for landscape design.
Sometimes buildings look completely original if they are made in the form of several geometric shapes. Such gazebos are called combined.
Material options
The types of arbors are distinguished by the materials from which they are created. Most often they are built of wood, brick, stone, forged metal. Gazebos with glass seem to be airy, their walls can move apart, turning a closed structure into a semi-open area. In a glazed gazebo, you experience ambivalent feelings: a feeling of security and merging with nature.
Wooden buildings are fabulously beautiful, they fit organically into the landscape of the site. Resting in such a place, you feel like a part of the garden. Wooden gazebos are relatively inexpensive, they are easy to assemble on your own, and for such structures you need a lightweight foundation.
Often, gazebos are built according to a Finnish project: a grill is located in the center of the room on a stone countertop. In such a structure, an exhaust hood is provided.
This material has its drawbacks. It is fire hazardous, therefore, the grill and barbecue should be installed on a ceramic floor, and the wall near the stove should not be made of wood. Wood requires periodic maintenance, cleaning from mildew and mold, processing with special compounds.
Brick or stone gazebos are built on a solid foundation, so they look thorough. Such a design is not afraid of bad weather conditions, heat or cold, and they are also fire resistant. Having thought over the heating system, you can celebrate the New Year in a brick gazebo.
Such a building is more expensive than other options, but it will also last a hundred years without requiring special care.
Completely metal gazebos are not made, because it is cold in winter and hot in summer. Alternatively, forged material is used. More often, such structures are combined, for example, 1-1.5 m from the floor, the walls are made of brick or stone, and higher - openwork forging, which supports the roof of light materials.
Such gazebos are very beautiful, but their construction requires the participation of a specialist. Metal should be treated with anti-corrosion impregnations.
Forging looks good in landscape design: garden benches, a porch with a visor, a gate, a fence can support the gazebo theme.
How to build it yourself?
When creating a gazebo project, you should decide on several points:
- Where will the facility be located? It can be allocated a picturesque place in the garden or placed next to the house. It is important that the smoke from the chimney does not enter the living quarters. It is better to place the winter version of the design next to the building - it is easier to carry out communications this way.
- What type of building is chosen (open, closed, semi-closed).
- What material will the room be made of (wood, metal, brick).
- What size to build a gazebo.
- What kind of stove and barbecue are planned.
According to fire safety measures, there should be free space at a distance of three meters from the stove.A small gazebo will become a place for cooking, it will decorate the landscape, but it will not be enough for rest and gatherings. The more people are going to use the gazebo, the larger its footage should be.
A traditional gazebo is built with a size of 3x3 m, rectangular can be much larger. In addition to the kitchen, there is a dining area in the building, which includes a table and chairs, and a sofa is possible in the relaxation area. In some gazebos, water supply is supplied, a sink is installed... All this should be taken into account when making design calculations.
To make the rest comfortable the height of the gazebo is planned to be more than two meters, also 2 sq. m of area is calculated for each visitor... When drawing up a drawing, all elements inside the structure are indicated.
When planning a vacation spot, one should not only take into account the practical component, but also pay attention to how it will be combined with the landscape. A large building in a small garden will visually reduce the site, and a small gazebo will be lost against the background of a large area.
Step-by-step construction instructions
For the construction of a gazebo, a suitable place is chosen either in a picturesque garden or not far from the house, so that it is easier to bring communications.
They make a markup of the site and begin construction work.
- The foundation depends on the severity of the building. Brick or stone requires a strip base. For its implementation, trenches are dug in the ground, wooden formwork is installed, reinforcement is laid and it is poured with cement. For wooden buildings, it is more economical to use a columnar foundation.
- The floor is laid on the finished foundation. This can be tile or wood flooring, but where the stove is installed should be ceramic or stone. If the gazebo is built on solid ground, you can do without a floor. In an open gazebo, rainwater can accumulate on the floor, so it should be done with a slight slope.
- The walls in the gazebos usually do not perform bearing functions, the exception may be capital brick structures. Either lattice air partitions are erected, or solid ones with conditional window openings.
- A roof on wooden structures is made of lightweight materials, inclined (about 10 degrees) or ridge. Cover it with metal or polycarbonate.
- Finishing is essential for the aesthetic appearance and protection of the walls. Wooden structures are impregnated with an antibacterial composition, varnish is applied. Forging is treated with anti-corrosion mixtures, protected with enamels.
The oven with barbecue and barbecue is performed as an ordinary street building and is erected simultaneously with the gazebo. Waterproofing is laid between the floor and the foundation, a metal plate is installed under the stove. It is better to lay the wall near the barbecue made of stone... Then the oven is built out of bricks.
Cladding can be made with clinker tiles. The stove must have a chimney and an exhaust... You can use a portable grill and barbecue, but it is better to insert them into the finished stone structure.
