Active oxygen for the pool: what is it and how to use it?

The pool on the territory of the country house helps to relax, take a break from the daily hustle and bustle, swimming is useful for people of all ages. But in order to keep an artificial reservoir in perfect condition, regular maintenance of the pool with the use of special chemicals is required. One of them is active oxygen.

In addition to mechanical cleaning of the pool, disinfectants are required to destroy pathogenic microorganisms in the water. They are often based on substances such as chlorine, bromine, active oxygen. Active oxygen for pool cleaning is produced from hydrogen peroxide. It is a highly pure aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide.

Granules are intended both for shock treatment of the pool and for subsequent systematic water purification. Usually packaged in buckets of 1, 5, 6, 10 kg and bags containing 25 kg of this product.
• Powder. This form of release most often consists of active oxygen in the form of a powder and a liquid activator. The latter enhances the action of the basic substance and protects the artificial reservoir from the growth of algae. On sale, it is often found packaged in 1.5 kg bags or in special water-soluble 3.6 kg bags.
• Liquid. It is a multicomponent liquid product for disinfection of pool water. Contained in cans of 22, 25 or 32 kg.

First of all, it should be remembered that the dosage of agents with active oxygen for the treatment of the pool is recommended to be observed strictly according to the attached instructions. Before disinfection, you need to measure the pH level of the water using special tests. The ideal score is 7.0-7.4. If there are significant deviations, then it is necessary to bring the indicator to these values ​​with the help of special preparations.

Active oxygen in the form of tablets is placed in a skimmer (a device for taking the upper layer of water and purifying it) or using a float. The granules are also poured into the skimmer or dissolved in a separate container. Throwing them directly into the pool is not recommended, as construction materials may discolor. Liquid active oxygen and dissolved powder should be poured into the water along the sides of the pool along the entire perimeter. During the first cleaning with a liquid form, take 1-1.5 liters per 10 m3 of water, with repeated processing after 2 days, the amount of active oxygen can be reduced, disinfection should be carried out weekly.

• When adding active oxygen to the water, no people should be in the pool.
• The water becomes safe for those wishing to swim at least 2 hours after cleaning. The best option is to disinfect at night.
• If this product gets on the skin, wash it off with water as soon as possible. The white spots will gradually disappear on their own.
• If you accidentally swallow a drug based on active oxygen, then you need to drink at least 0.5 liters of clean water, and then call an ambulance.
• You should be aware that usually the shelf life of such funds does not exceed 6 months from the date of manufacture, which is indicated on the package.
