This design gives a second life to the part that many throw away in a landfill. It is quite easy to manufacture and does not rust during operation.
From a metal barrel
A fairly easy-to-manufacture option. In this case, the barrel must be cut lengthwise and get two barbecues or use the other half as a lid. It is necessary to make a stand under the barrel in order to raise the structure to the required height.
From car drives
This manufacturing option is quite simple and involves the use of one to several disks. They have a fairly thick metal, such a structure will last a long time.
Creative options
Such designs provide an unusual approach to the basis for making a barbecue, where they use, for example, a case from cars (metal for children, real vehicles), a system unit from a computer, metal carriages and locomotives of sufficient size for a barbecue.

For a more comfortable stay (especially in the country), it is often necessary to take into account the direction of the wind, since the smoke from the coals can be directed towards the table where the guests are. In this case, stationary barbecues do not save the day. We have to use mobile structures.
Considering that the structure itself is made of metal with a thickness of more than 1.5 m, the weight is quite decent. It is often difficult for one person to tolerate. Especially if the cooking has already begun and the barbecue has reached a high temperature.
To facilitate the movement of the barbecue, a design on wheels is used, which greatly simplifies changing the location of the barbecue. When developing and manufacturing mobile structures on wheels, it is necessary to take into account a number of factors affecting ease of use and safety.
An important factor in the design is taking into account the required distance from the handle, for which the barbecue will move, to the main unit, where the coals are heated. The distance should be such that the handle does not get too hot during cooking, as it can cause burns if touched. It is desirable to make the surface of the handle from a material that has low thermal conductivity. This will allow it to heat up less.
The stand with wheels must be strong, made taking into account the weight of the barbecue itself. Its design usually depends on personal preference.
It is advisable to make the wheels on which the barbecue will move, made of metal, since during use it is possible for heat from the coals to get directly onto them. In this case, rubber wheels will be unsafe, they can burst or melt from heating, causing trouble at the most inopportune moment.
For ease of use, side surfaces can be provided in the structure. For example, they can be folding, designed to accommodate food, plates or other utensils. Also, the designs of mobile barbecues are often equipped with an upper roof that protects the food and coals from the rain.
The width and length of the future barbecue should take into account the dimensions of the grill or skewers used for cooking, as well as their number. Barbecues are often made to be cooked on a single wire rack. However, if you need to simultaneously cook a large number of dishes (for example, meat, fish, mushrooms and vegetables), which should preferably be served hot immediately after cooking, you should think about increasing the length or width of the barbecue you are making or ordering.
In addition, it is necessary to correctly select the thickness of the material for manufacturing. It is important to take into account that when used, the metal burns out, after a while (depending on the frequency of use and storage location) the grill will be unusable. The thickness of the metal is generally between 1.5 and 5 mm. It should be borne in mind that the thicker the metal, the heavier the structure will turn out.
