The hallway in any apartment is its hallmark, therefore, when decorating it, you should pay attention to any detail. This room can have a different style of interior, but furniture must be selected very carefully, paying attention to its functionality. One of these items is a bench with drawers for storing shoes and various things.

It should be said that this element of the interior first appeared in the West, but for us it is not the most widespread and usual. However, recently banquets are starting to gain popularity. The times of typical furniture have long since sunk into oblivion, and now everyone wants to fill the interior with something interesting and original, something that can fully express his preferences.

The word "banquet" has French roots and literally translates as "bench". This is a piece of furniture that has a soft seat and, as in our case, boxes for storing something. Therefore, we can safely say that it is an irreplaceable and very practical household item. And, of course, it gives a certain comfort and is a decoration of your apartment.

Currently, there are a great many types of benches on the market, differing both in functionality and in their design. They can be conditionally divided into the following: open type, closed and multifunctional.

Open benches provide ventilation. The closed doors are used. And mirrors and shelves are also inserted into combined structures.

There are also benches with and without a back. Models with a backrest are well suited for a spacious hallway. This element of the interior can also differ in the way the drawer is opened. One option is to place the drawer under the seat, the other is to use a drawer.

Often, hybrid designs of benches are built into a niche in the hallway.

Materials such as chipboard and the like are used in a retro style. Their disadvantages are the fear of moisture and less strength than wood. But products from MDF already have water resistance.

For a rustic style, wicker structures are used, for example, from rattan. High-tech or baroque furniture is made of metal, mainly bronze or iron, and leather and fabric are used for upholstery of banquets.

The advantages of wooden banquettes include aesthetic beauty, environmental friendliness, long service life and practicality. For their manufacture, they use species such as oak or beech.

For upholstery, you can use matting, chenille, tapestry, boucle, velor, flock or jacquard, artificial leather. To fill poufs, non-woven fabric, synthetic winterizer, polyurethane foam or chlorofiber are used.

Of course, the main location of the banquette, based on its functionality, is an entrance hall or a corridor, but it can also be located on a balcony or loggia, as well as in a living room or bedroom.

In the kitchen, the bench can store the things and accessories necessary for such an interior, at the same time being a place to sit, which is very convenient - this allows you to reduce the number of chairs.

If it is in the hallway, you can store shoes, clothes, various accessories, for example, hats, gloves, scarves and much more in it. You can sit on it to conveniently and comfortably take off and put on your shoes.

Bed linen, rugs, blankets are often placed in the banquet in the bedroom. This piece of furniture brings a certain style and comfort to the apartment, allows you to get rid of clutter and save space.

The banquette will find its place both in the summer open veranda and in the business office.

The choice of a banquet is, of course, determined by your taste preferences and the future functionality of this element. Its dimensions and geometry are chosen based on the area of ​​the room in such a way as to avoid inconvenience.

Also, a bench with a storage box should organically and naturally fit into the interior of the apartment. The presence or absence of legs will be determined by the floor covering on which the bench will be located.
