Today, absolutely all modern models of plasma and liquid crystal televisions have high image quality, as for the sound, it wants the best. Therefore, it is recommended to complement the TV with speakers to obtain a clear broadcast. They are available in a huge assortment, but when choosing these devices, you need to know what criteria you should first pay attention to, as well as their types and characteristics.

What are they?

The speaker system is considered the main component of any TV, as it is the best option for solving sound problems. Thanks to this innovation of technology, you can not only hear the music, the main text, but also such the smallest subtleties as special effects and rustles. Such a system can consist of various elements, the main of which is a sound column.

Television speakers are available in various types and differ in the purpose of use and design features (with or without an amplifier). Columns can be round, oval, rectangular and square in shape; they are usually made of chipboard, MDF or fiberboard.

Acoustic systems consist of the following elements:

  • front speakers - they provide the main sound, are large in size and have full-range speakers;
  • master columns - with their help, the sound acquires volume;
  • rear - needed to create additional sound effects;
  • side columns;
  • subwoofer - directly responsible for low frequencies.

The case of all speakers can be either closed or with a bass reflex, which affects the sound quality. The first option is usually found on most speakers, and the second is found only on subwoofers. TV speakers are capable of outputting two channels (stereo) and multichannel systems.

By the method of connection, these devices are divided into wireless with Bluetooth and wired, which are installed using HDMI, SCART and canonical "tulips".

Active

This is the most common type of speakers that can be connected to any TV model. They are equipped with amplifiers, connected to equipment in a special connector through a special cable equipped with a plug. Active speakers work from the electrical network... Since all connectors are clearly labeled, installation is easy.

In addition, to connect such speakers, no special adapters or other devices are required.

Passive

Unlike the previous type, these devices are not equipped with an amplifier. The speakers are connected separately to the amplifier taking into account their resistance at the output. If it is more, then the sound will be quieter, and if it is less, then this can lead to burnout of the amplifier (even with additional protection).

A huge role in these speakers is played by their polarity: the right channel should be connected to the right, and the left - to the left. If this is not followed, the sound quality will be poor.

Home cinemas

This system is one of the best, as it allows you to simultaneously receive high quality sound and picture at home. If you correctly place all the components of the system over the area of the room, then you can really immerse yourself in all the events taking place on the screen. Home theaters are usually equipped with a soundbar (mono speaker equipped with multiple built-in speakers), satellites (provide a narrow frequency spectrum), a subwoofer (designed for low frequencies), receiver and front, center, rear speakers... The more constituent components in the system, the higher the sound quality.

Musical centers

This is a special kind of speaker system that is designed for high quality sound reproduction and is suitable for installation on TV as an amplifier. Music centers are connected to TVs using the RCA connector... For newer models of equipment, you must additionally use an adapter cable. Installation is carried out according to a simple scheme: the connector of the music center "IN" to the connector TV "OUT".

Stereo systems

This type of device is an amplifier equipped with several passive speakers that have different powers. A stereo system is usually connected via a cable with a TRS or RCA adapter... The simplest system consists of a subwoofer and two speakers.

This budget option allows you to significantly improve the sound quality, but to create surround sound and special effects, you need to connect additional acoustic elements.

Top Models

Today, the speaker market is represented by a huge selection of devices, but television speakers, which are suitable for almost all brands of TV, deserve special attention.

Let's take a closer look at several of the most popular models that have proven to be of high quality and have received many positive reviews.

  • Attitude Andersson... This model is available with two speakers with a power of up to 30 watts. The frequency reproducibility index ranges from 60 to 20,000 Hz. The manufacturer manufactures a plastic case for the system, so it is inexpensive. To connect to a TV, you need to use the line-in.

This budget model also has a chic design, there are no shortcomings.

  • Eltax Experience SW8... This option is a freestanding subwoofer that can be complemented by one long, flat active or inverter speaker. Despite the fact that the sound bandwidth in the device is only 1, its power is 80 watts. Sound reproduction frequency ranges from 40 to 250 Hz. This model is easy to connect to a TV through the line-in.

It is ideal for expanding standard acoustics in technology.

  • Samsung SWA-9000S... This is a two-way active speaker equipped with an amplifier. The speakers in the system are wireless, their total power is up to 54 watts. The amplifier and speaker housing are made of plastic. The manufacturer diversified the design of the device with a color palette, the white model looks especially stylish, which fits perfectly into the interior of rooms decorated in a classic style.
  • Tascam VL-S3BT... This model consists of two bass-reflex television speakers, which are capable of producing two sound bands and have a total power of only 14 watts. The sound frequency in this acoustic device ranges from 80 to 22000 Hz.

Thanks to the simple installation through the line-in, the speakers can be connected not only to a TV, but also to a computer.

  • CVGaudio NF4T... This is a stylish pendant-style speaker system with a two-way loudspeaker. The sound sensitivity in it does not exceed 88 dB, and the frequency can be from 120 to 19000 Hz. This model can be connected both through a home theater, receiver, and through an amplifier.

How to choose?

In order for TV speakers to fit perfectly into the overall design of the room, provide perfect sound and at the same time serve a long time, you need to know how to choose them. The first step is to decide which version of the speakers is most suitable - recessed, wall, ceiling or floor. Built-in models are best chosen for private houses, as they have dimensions. If you give preference to speakers that are mounted on a wall or ceiling, then you need to be prepared for the fact that you have to tinker with the installation of special brackets.

In addition, such speakers are usually used as additional speakers for a small TV. As for the floor ones, they look great in spacious rooms, as they have a great height and chic design. Long speakers can also be placed in rooms equipped with a home theater, but they are inappropriate in small apartments.

Apart from this, there are also several indicators to pay attention to.

  • TV speaker configuration... The first number indicates the number of satellites and the second number of subwoofers. The higher the system configuration, the better the sound quality. Modern models are presented in 7.1 format, they are similar to 5.1, but unlike the latter, they are supplemented not only with rear, but also side speakers, which provides surround sound like in cinemas. The only thing is that a 7.1 speaker system is expensive, and not everyone can afford it.
  • Power... The choice of speakers largely depends on this indicator, since the higher it is, the better sound reproduction will be. The loudspeakers are available with maximum, peak and nominal power. The first indicator indicates how long the speaker can be operated without harm to the system. Peak power is much higher than nominal. It defines the value at which an acoustic device can operate without damage. As for the nominal power, it is the most important and testifies to the loudness, reliability in operation and mechanical endurance of the speakers.
  • Frequency range... Experts recommend purchasing audio systems with a frequency range of 20 Hz, which is accessible to the human ear. In this case, you can also choose systems in which the speaker reaches 40 Hz. They are ideal for daily use.
  • Manufacturing material... Speakers made of natural wood are considered an excellent choice, but they are expensive. Therefore, an alternative can be products made of MDF, chipboard or plywood. Plastic has poor performance and can cause rattling. All speakers included in the system must be of high quality, free from chips and cracks.
  • Sensitivity... This indicator is measured in decibels. It significantly affects the volume level, so it is best to buy speakers with a high sensitivity level.
  • Availability of additional system components... If there is a desire to improve audio TV, then you need to choose speaker systems that are equipped not only with ordinary speakers, but also with a soundbar. It is a surround speaker with left and right stereo channels. The soundbar is well suited for small spaces.

In addition to all of the above, when buying television speakers, you need to pay attention to the parameters of the room where you plan to install them. For rooms with a large area, it is recommended to choose speakers with a power of 100 W, and for small-sized rooms (with an area of 20 m²), speakers with a power of 50 W can also be suitable. The design of the device also plays an important role, since all elements of the system must harmoniously fit into the overall style of the room.

Long versions of speakers, which are also called "sauna bases", also look gorgeous in modern design. They serve as a TV stand, have a solid body and beautiful design.

How to connect speakers?

After the issue has been resolved with the choice of speakers for TV, it remains only to start installing them. It is absolutely simple to do this, the most important thing is not to forget to turn off the equipment itself. First of all, you should inspect the TV and find out what sound outputs it has.After that, the cables are connected, the volume control is turned down and two devices (TV and speaker system) are turned on. If everything is done correctly, then the sound will appear in the speakers.

In order to separate or output sound from acoustics connected simultaneously to a TV, computer and home theater, you need to use a special adapter and a SCARD or RCA wire... It should be noted that most modern models of smartphones for digital audio output have an HDMI connecting cable, which is easy to connect.

As for the separate connection of the subwoofer, it is done using an RCA cable. This way the subwoofer can be connected to other acoustic elements, home theaters and amplifiers. In some cases, only an amplifier is connected to the TV; for this, one of the following connectors is used: optical, for headphones, SCARD or RCA.

If you need to install wireless speakers via Bluetooth, then you should first go to the settings menu and select the characteristic icon. Then the speakers themselves turn on, the "Search" button is pressed in the TV window that opens. A column is selected in the list that appears, and the connection procedure is considered complete. In some TV models, the Bluetooth function is not provided, in which case, in this case, you will need a special USB cable to connect the speakers... It is inexpensive and versatile.
