Previously, tea candles were not bought as often as they are now, in addition, they were hardly found on the shelves. They were used only at special moments - for example, to create a romantic setting. Today, due to the fact that they can be found in any market, tea candles are an indispensable attribute of home decor.

Savvy hostesses keep packs of paraffin candles in their home to use on the occasion. In addition, without such candles, it is impossible to heat the contents in an aroma lamp - essential oil: for example, lavender or tea tree. When heated, the oil spreads a charming scent throughout the house, some of which relieve tension and soothe.

Description

Tea candles were originally intended to keep the temperature of the tea served at the table (for tea ceremonies). The tablet candles looked very simple - they had a flat shape and were in an aluminum sleeve. They were made in the same way as traditional ones - from wax. Thanks to the amazing lightness of the candle, it could be placed anywhere.

A modern candle is a pill consisting of a combustible substance with a wick in a metal frame. It serves to prevent the substance from spreading over the surface during combustion. Tea candles are called tablets because of their flat rounded shape and miniature size (most often they do not exceed 3.8 cm in diameter.)

The composition of the product is different, the candle is made of beeswax (wax), paraffin and soy wax.

Substances differ from each other, so it is advisable to learn more about them.

Beeswax

People everywhere make candles from foundation at home. It is believed that handmade products have magical properties. Natural wax contains many useful substances that fill the space when burning a candle.

Beeswax does not lose its properties for hundreds of years. The natural substance contains about 300 different components, in addition, the foundation burns evenly and cleanly, emitting the aroma of honey and propolis. Inhaling such air, a person calms down, and his body receives substances that strengthen it. The effect is noticeable from the first minutes of burning.

Paraffin

Paraffin candles when burning emit toxic compounds into the environment:

  • benzene - causes dizziness and weakness, after prolonged inhalation of paraffin fumes, blood and bone marrow disease may develop;
  • toluene - affects the nervous and circulatory system.

From this it should be concluded that it is not recommended to get carried away with paraffin products.

But if there is no need to regularly light a paraffin candle, then its rare use will not lead to negative consequences. The plus is that paraffin tea products are widespread in production. If the material has been well cleaned, then it does not smoke and burns evenly. It is important to know that if a candle emits black smoke and soot, it must be extinguished urgently, it will be harmful.

Soy wax

It was invented by Michelle Richards in 1991, looking for a replacement for beeswax. Soy wax is completely natural, of plant origin. It is a complete replacement for foundation. The material for manufacturing is soybean oil, so candles are safe for health and do not emit carbon dioxide when burned.

So, soy wax is a great alternative to beeswax, it is relatively inexpensive (but more expensive than paraffin), naturally aromatic, has a long burning period, does not form carbon deposits and soot. Wax on clothes can be easily cleaned off with soapy water and does not stain. Great for those who care about the environment and their health.

Advantages and disadvantages

Tea lights create a romantic setting, complementing a festive occasion such as an engagement or birthday. They are light enough, so they can be transported, carried with you. Thanks to their miniature size, candles can be easily made into any shape: for example, a heart for a loved one or a circle for magical rites.

The only disadvantages are the material - paraffin. It cannot be used for a long time, because it is made from oil. When burned, the material releases, as mentioned above, toluene and benzene, and this leads not only to environmental pollution, but can also cause serious harm to health.

Please note: due to its lightness, the products are easily adhered to the surface of the water, which attracts those who are not indifferent to the creation of a beautiful and unique environment. Floating tea candles are often used on the holiday of Ivan Kupala or on Valentine's Day.

Despite their compactness, candles are comically called small and remote. Indeed, the scope of their application is very wide.

Burning time

It is already known what materials are used to create tea candles, but now it would be useful to know about the time it takes to burn. High-quality products burn for at least 3 hours - this is considered the norm. This time is quite enough for the candles to complete their task. But there are also such products that burn for 9 hours.

Ordinary paraffin candles (these are sold in any store) are mainly bought either to complement the appropriate setting, or for an aroma lamp. They do not burn for long - no more than 40 minutes, but this time is enough when it is necessary to fill the room with the aroma of essential oil.

Colors

Tea lights are very welcome in the decor. Mostly white people are used, but the choice is not limited to this. In addition to the fact that the colors are different: yellow, pink, green, they do not have any practical meaning, but smells do. It is much more pleasant when the candle exudes natural subtle aromas than the unpleasant synthetic smell of aromas.

There is one beautiful invention, but it also has no practical function, but only for beauty. This is a flickering LED candle in the shape of a light; the product is made of plastic. When using one battery, it can work no more than 4 days, it looks very nice.

For reference: some people prefer to color candles on their own, for this they purchase candle dyes. Powder paints are ideal. Stearic acid helps to remove color.

Use cases

Miniature tea candles are versatile, they can even be used on water. Therefore, they are often placed on the surface of the water surface so that they swim and fascinate with their appearance. These "boats" can be used in the bathroom, in a bowl of water. The peculiarity is that the light from the flame will reflect off the water, so the room will be filled with enchanting glare.

Often paraffin tea candles are used to heat the essential oil - 20 minutes is enough to fill the room with a pleasant aroma. If there is no candlestick in the house and you urgently need to light the room (for example, the lights have been turned off), then at least there is definitely a cup. A candle is placed in it, and grains for the scent. They just need to be poured into the inside of the cup.

Besides, candles always give off warmth.

To give a mysterious and romantic atmosphere, a tea candle is placed in a glass or vase - it looks very elegant and beautiful. In addition, lighted products placed throughout the house (on the piano, tables, chest of drawers) will bring coziness in the evening - even if it is autumn outside the windows and leaves or cold winter fall, your soul will be warm and sunny.

For you don't need a special occasion to light tea candles... Paraffin waxes are quite inexpensive - from 45 rubles, and are sold in almost any market. The main thing is not to overuse paraffin. If finances allow, then you can buy soy or bee tea candles in a special boutique of goods for the home and use them whenever and as much as you want, there will be no harm from them.
